"One...Two..." My little 4 year old self counts and points at the beautiful stars in the sky.
"What are you doing?" I hear the little 5 year old Ethan ask me and lay next to me. "Counting the stars in the sky." I say simply. "Isn't that impossible?" He asks as he looks at me. "Not if you keep counting and if you help me" I say.
"Alright" he says and looks up. "One, two, thre- Y/n, this is gonna take forever...there is like...a gazillion stars up there!" He says pointing up at the starry sky. "Just count and we'll both be done in no time." I say.
14 years later
I lay down on the grass in the empty grass feild, looking up at the beautiful starry sky. I lift up my hand and start pointing to each star, counting them.
"One, two, three, four..." Then my boyfriend comes and lays next to me and lays his head on my shoulder. "What are you doing?" He asks looking up. "Counting the stars" I smile. Then he smiles also. "Just like a long time ago.."
"You still remember..." I say. "Yea. You used to lay out here in the feild and count the stars, but always fall asleep and loose your count." He chuckles. I giggle.
"You're probably right.." I look at him. "There probably are gazillion stars up there." I wave my hand. "We'll never know if we count them together." Ethan says looking at the sky. I chuckle. "You're right."
We then both count the stars in the sky together. Unfortunately, we didn't know how much stars there were in sky because we both fell asleep on the soft grass field.
Maybe one day we'll get to know how many stars there are in the sky..
