"What the hell are you doing here?" I stand n the middle of the hallway clutching my phone in my hand so tight it feels like it's about to break.
"No Sam that's no way to talk to your father."
"You lost the title father the day you left me and mom for your new family."
"Sam I know you're probably mad at me right now but I came back because I heard about what happened to Naomi."
I furrow my eyebrows in disbelief, "Are you serious right now? Naomi died months ago and my mom and I dealt with every hateful comment someone sent my way without you."
"I know I didn't find out until recently and I know how close you and Naomi were. I thought you would need me in a time like this."
"Well I didn't and I don't think mom would want to see you. She's finally doing good and the last thing she needs right now is to see you. Since you want to offer your help now do me a favor and stay the fuck out of my life."
I storm passed him and push the door open slamming it behind me. "Mom are you home?" When no one answers I let out the breath I've been holding in.
I peek out the door to make sure he's gone and sure enough the hall is empty. I close the door back and let out a deep breath. A couple minutes later there is a knock on the door and I rush over to open it.
Sarah stands on the other side with a bottle of vodka in her blinged out hands with a big fat smile on her face.
"What did you do?"
"I started early on my vow to you."
"And the rings?"
"Oh there just my mom's fake jewelry. They look real don't they?"
"Yea."
"You gonna let me in or what?"
"Yea. Yea come in I zoned out."
"You don't look so happy. What's wrong day didn't go so well with your boy?"
"No nothing happened with Sean." I walk into the kitchen and grab two cups out of the cabinet.
"You're drinking?" Sarah asks as she places the bottle on the counter.
"Yea. I know I don't usually drink but I need it."
"Okay enough what happened?"
"My dad came by like it was just another day."
"Wait what?! Yea you're gonna need a drink." She pours two shots and mixes it with lemonade. "Vodka isn't known for it's taste so you might want something a little better to mix with it but just try it."
I nod and take the shot not even caring how it taste.
"Wow girl you really know how to take it to the brain for someone who has never drunk."
"I never said I never drunk I just said I don't like to."
"Okay mystery lady." She smiles and drinks her's, "Okay so what happened with your dad?"
"He came here talking about Naomi's death and how he wanted to be there for me. I mean can you believe that! Where was he when people were threatening my life or when the people I considered my family turned their backs on me because they blamed me for their daughters death!"
"What a douche."
"Right he thinks it's okay to walk out then come back like nothing ever happened!"
"So what does he even look like tall sexy?"
"Sarah!"
"Sorry you're right that wasn't the time to be asking that question continue."
