"We should call your dad." The man I thought Theo's dad says. "Theo take her up to your room until further notice we don't know when Sean plays to move but we have to be ready and she needs to be as far as she can be."
"Okay come on." Theo gestures for me to follow him.
"Can you make sure my mom is okay?"
"Yea of course." He smiles sadly and I can feel something is wrong.
I follow Theo up to his room and sit on his bed.
"If it helps any you look really pretty."
"Thanks." I exhale and look away from him. "But what was it for? To meet the family of the boy who tired to kill me?"
"Sam he's done this to many people he's ruthless."
"But still. I did nothing to him and yet he thinks it's okay to uproot my life like that?"
"I know Sam."
"No you don't he didn't mess up your life like he did mine."
Theo's jaw clenches and his fist clench closed. "You think he didn't uproot my life? I was taken away from my really family just to be trained to destroy this stupid gang!"
"I'm sorry Theo I didn't know."
"Of course you didn't because you never cared to ask where my real family is."
I lower my gaze shame written all over my face. "Can I have a minute alone Theo this is all too much right now."
"Whatever." He walks out the room shutting the door behind him.
I lay down on the bed and tears start to fall from my eyes. Everything is happening so fast and everyone expects me to adjust so fast. But I can't the pressure everyone is putting on me is too much and I can't deal with it.
I wipe the tears from my face and walk out of the room.
"Theo?"
He comes running up the stairs and sees me standing in the hallway. "Yea?"
"Do you have some scissors something is sticking me from the inside of my dress."
"Uh yea." He runs back downstairs and is back within seconds. "Here."
"Thanks. Bathroom?"
"Down the hall last door on the left."
"Okay." I turn around and walk to the bathroom and shut it. I peel off my sweater and stand in front of the sink.
"Do it Sam."
I shake my head and take a deep breath then bring the scissors to my arm. I start to dig the blade into my skin until I can't take it anymore. I cry out in pain and tears start to roll down my cheeks.
Theo swings the door open making me drop the scissors and he lungs forward and pulls me into a tight embrace. "What are you doing Sam?"
"I can't do this anymore I should be dead!"
"Shh." He rubs my back in circles while I cry into his shoulder. "That's not true Sam you can handle this I'm here for you." He slides us down the wall until he's sitting on the floor and I'm sitting in his lap.
"I can't Theo." My sobs get quieter until it's just deep breaths.
"It's going to be okay Sam I promise."
I pull my head up so I'm looking him in the eyes. "Really?"
"Yes, now lets get you cleaned up."
