Amara

"Turn your TV on."

"What? Why?"

"Stop asking Amara! You'll be a second late if you won't turn it on now." Atat niyang utos kaya napilitan akong i-on ang TV sa kwarto.

The screen welcomes me with Four's face. The headline says about him speaking up finally about the issue.

"You're welcome." Mattina gushes before ending the call.

Jenny: Here with us tonight on Jenny and Jimmy is the phenomenal artist from the band 4 who is bombarded with intriguing issues and accusations from his ex himself.

Jimmy: That's right Jenny. It seems that he no longer cannot hold his silence about the controversy. So sibs, help me welcome, Four Palmer.

I know this is going to happen but I don't know what he is going to say.

Jimmy: Four Palmer, welcome to Jenny and Jimmy Show. The public has been waiting for this to happen so let me get it straight to the point. What happened on the supposed to be wedding day?

Jenny: Tiara Valdez has shared a beautiful narration about the event through her point of view which I believe is you are also aware of. Four, the public aren't buying anything she shared and they are hoping for this moment, for you to share your vantage point of what really happened.

Four: First of all, I want to thank everyone who still choose to stand by me even after everything. Tiara, I'm sorry. I know I've hurt you in so many ways but since you've dragged my daughter into this, I just cannot stay silent. I'm sorry.

I can see how uncomfortable Four is through the expression on his face. Yet, he still looks perfect on screen.

Four: The wedding was not supposed to happen soon or...ever. I haven't been home for seven years and I can't just return telling everyone I'm getting married. First of all, there was no engagement. During my four years of stay abroad, I lived an empty life. The fame and stardom were never enough to satiate or fill at the least the emptiness I've felt within those years. Perhaps, that is why I've gotten tired and have randomly thought about going home after running away from my family. It was unexpected. Everything was. What changed the course of my life was when I saw my ex... my ex-fiancee.

Jenny: I'm sorry to cut you off, Four. But are you actually referring to this certain Amara?

Four nods his head and smiles at the female host.

Four: Yes. Amara was my ex-fiancee who is the reason why I lived seven empty years. I left her at the church on our wedding day.

His voice trails off and I can see how hard he tries to blink back his tears.

Four: It was just me being a jerk and a coward. So after seven years, I saw her and I realized that it was still her afterall. Without my knowledge, Tiara and mom were arranging the wedding while I was busy trying to apologize to Amara. Of course, she hated me and I deserve that. However, after my past mistake, the wedding with Tiara has to happen. On that fateful day, I knew about my daughter. And it was all that I needed—a reason for me to get my life back to track.

Jenny: I don't know what to say.

She is teary. She even takes a tissue and wipes carefully the corner of her eyes.
