Amara

Waking up next to Four in the morning the next day is not enough to remind me that I am now his wife. I am now his Mrs. Amara Palmer. It still feels like a dream.

"Good morning, my love." Four greets when I open my eyes. My lips automatically form into a smile. "Get up sunshine, everyone's waiting. Your husband is already hungry too."

"Give me a hug, husband." "I love you."

"Ang sweet naman ng asawa ko. Tinutukso mo naman akong solohin ka e."

"What?" I say, amused. "Help me up. I'm hungry too, love." Four kisses me on the lips. Thank goodness, Darryl knocks on the door. Haha.

"Mom? Dad?"

"Baby love." Bungad niya sa nakangiti naming anak. Being the sweet tooth that she is, she immediately hugs her father. Four carries her and returns to me.

"Mommy. I'm hungry." She complains.

"No good morning to mommy?" Sumimangot ako, kunwari nagtatampo. Guilty, she giggles before wrapping her small arms around my neck.

"I love you Mommy Ganda."

Whoa. Bumabawi? Napakabolera talaga ng bata na 'to e. May pinagmanahan talaga kasi. Naku. Naku.

"Okay na, nakabawi ka na. Tara na." Tumawa si Four sa sagot ko samantalang hindi ko naman tiyak kung naiintindihan ni Darryl ang sinabi ko.

Our families only stayed in Bali with us for two more days after the wedding. Nagpaiwan muna kaming tatlo ni Darryl. We extend our stay for another week.

"Mom, I'm still not sleepy."

"Jellybean, it's late. It's almost twelve. Good kids should already be asleep at this hour." Pangaral ko rito.

"See? I told you." Her daddy butts in, agreeing to me. "Just close your eyes. You will fall asleep later on before you'll know."

"But I'm really not sleepy dad." Darryl continues to insist. I actually find it funny and cute. I take the camera in stealth and video them.

"But you have to sleep."

"I cannot sleep. I tried but I am just not sleepy."

"You are not trying enough. You try again. Just close your eyes." Four snaps back like as if forgetting that he's talking to a seven-year old. For more than five minutes, they continue bickering. I am really just holding back not to burst to laughter.

"Daddy, please. I really can't sleep." Darryl insists for the nth time. "When I close my eyes, I'm seeing so many colorful things and my mind would then imagine and draw stuff in my head." She explains more detailed this time.

"Okay. If you are not sleeping, what will you be doing then?"

"Hmm." Four stares at her, waiting for her answer. "I guess I want to eat. Can we have ice cream?"

"You ask your mo—" He stops midsentence after catching me taking video of them. "Mommy, what are you doing?" Sita niya sa'kin. "Are you taking a video?" I just chuckle. The curious little Darryl gets up.
