Clint's Hearing Aids

Clint POV

I've never really told anyone that I was deaf. No one knew about my hearing aids or my disability; save Pete though. He found out because he caught me wearing my hearing aids, but he swore to never tell anyone and I am thankful. I'm scared that not all the Avengers will let a deaf person go on their missions with them.

I have clear hearing aids so no one can see them. And if I wear a solid colour pair, then the rest of them will just think of it as an earpiece for missions and stuff.

(づ◔ ͜ʖ◔)づ A Friday Morning

I woke up to the sound of total silence. That's weird, Tony's tower is in the heart of NYC; it should be bustling with sounds and traffic. But I just shrugged it off.

I wake up and walk over to the bathroom. Well, it's very unusual today, Friday usually greets me, maybe Tony is upgrading her or something?

I change my clothes and brush my hand over my ear.

It feels like I'm missing something.

What am I missing?

My hands brush over my ear again and...

MY HEARING AIDS!

I ran back to the cabinet and search for it. WHY IS IT NOT HERE?! I'm going to die. *Dramatically dies on the floor*

I can't find it anywhere! How will I go downstairs? Will they find out? Should I risk it?! Yeah, you guys won't answer me, you're busy there sipping your tea for dets and receipts, while I'm over here internally screaming my head off, looking for my hearing aids!

I guess I have to go downstairs...

Natasha POV

It had been a full hour since Peter had left to go to school and Clint isn't here yet. I'm getting a little suspicious. All the Avengers begin to become very cautious with their surroundings, especially me. Clint is full of pranks; last week, he burnt my eyebrows off!

Speak of the devil, Clint walked in, sulking? He never sulks! He looks like he's been crying. Oh my, we all walk towards him and Steve pats him on the back.

"Are you okay?" Cap says but we receive no reply? Okay, what's going on! Clint never walks into a room, he usually scares the shit out of everyone by jumping out of the vents. 

But here he is, sulking away. I don't understand this. 

He just ignores us all and walks into the kitchen. "That's not normal," I whisper to the rest, they nod their heads in agreement. We walk into the kitchen to find Clint sitting in the dining room, eating Weetabix! He hates Weetabix! 

I'm getting frustrated now! What's happening with him? It's concerning me! He's my best friend, I need to help him.

I sit down next to him and tap his shoulder, he looks at me and gives a nervous smile. "Hey, you know you can talk to us about it, we won't judge you," I say in a gentle voice. But he gives me a confused look instead. 

He stands up and leaves his bowl in the sink, then he begins to...

WASH THE DISHES?!!!

This is outright insane! 

We need to help him now.

(づ◔ ͜ʖ◔)づ Peter comes home from school

3rd Person POV

Peter walked into the living room and found the Avengers surrounding Clint. The Avengers still hadn't found out what was bugging Clint. 

Realisation dawned on Peter and he rushed to his bedroom. Clint had left his hearing aids in his room when they had that pillow fight. Peter was going to give it to Clint, but he forgot since he was going to get late for school.

Peter ran into his own room and grabbed the pair of hearing aids, then ran back to Clint. He handed Clint the hearing aids and realisation dawned on the others.

He couldn't understand them because he was deaf!

When Clint plugged his aids on, he was crushed by the embrace of his friends. Natasha spoke, "Why didn't you tell us before, Clint?" 

Clint smiled for a second, then replied, "I'm sorry, I just thought that you all will never accept me." Bruce hugged Clint from behind and said, "We will accept you no matter what."
