Tension

"Cuuuuuuttttt!"

I huff out in frustration. This is hopeless. We are never going to get through this scene. We have no chemistry whatsoever and I have no idea how to demolish that. I mean it doesn't help that he's a huge fucking asshole.

I smack my hand against my forehead. She's impossible. There is no way I can break through that tough exterior. The costume that she's wearing makes her look slimmer. A good counter for my bulky appearance.

He looks at me after his hand smacks his face. "So now what?" I question him. He shrugs his shoulders and I look away from him. Of course, he's going to be laconic. Now that we have a real problem on our hands. I look around the room. I guess the director called for a break because the room is almost vacant.

She looks around, finding almost no one. "I know you don't like me." She whips her head around and gives me a confused expression.

"What?" How could he possibly see right through me? Am I that obvious?

"You know what I'm talking about. We have this sort of ... tension." She looks like she might walk out of the room, but when she leans forward, I know that she's not going anywhere.

"Tension?" Wow. I guess he felt that too. Does he really not see how much of a jerk he is?

"Yeah, do you not feel that?" I wave my hand, gesturing the air between us. I hope she does. Or else I'm making a huge fool of myself.

I think about it. Can I really confide in him and talk about my feelings? Well, I guess we will have to find out. "Yeah, I guess so. We have to fix that in order to try and pull off this scene."

She actually told me the truth. I can tell. That's ... hmm. Different. Somebody actually told me the truth. The light hits her a different way. Making her skin appear soft and touchable. Her lips pucker, waiting for me to answer. "I have an idea."

"Ok..." he opens his mouth, but then closes it soon after. Obviously wanting to say something. Not finding the words. "What?"

"You just have to close your eyes. I think it might work." She leans back at my words. Defensive.

"I'm not closing my eyes."

"I promise it will work."

"Not happening."

"Come on."

"No."

"Please?"

Wow. That's the first I have ever heard him say that word. I sigh. "Fine." I close my eyes.

She closes her eyes. I don't move right away. I just stared at her blissful face. Sitting in front of me at the short cafe table. The black straps of her sundress rests silently on the nape of her shoulders.

Nothing happens. Now, I feel silly. "Can I open my eyes now?" I hear him get up from his chair.

"No, not yet." I get up from my chair. I make my way towards her. Once I'm beside her, I reach my hand down to place my fingers underneath her chin, lifting her face up towards mine. I lean down closer to her face. I never noticed that she had freckles. They scatter across her cheekbones. Making constellations like the stars in the sky. My eyes soften at that. I lean further down to place my lips on hers. She jumps slightly, but then after a second, she relaxes against me.

Holy fuck. He just ... wait, what? Why was this hot to me? This guy is a complete jerk. But a good kisser.

I pull away from her slowly. Hovering above her. She hasn't opened her eyes yet. Basking in the affection that she just received. When she opens her eyes, I still over her. She locks them with mine. We stare at each other for a while. Nothing stopping us from doing it. If it wasn't for the voices that I hear outside, I would rip into her this very second.

He hasn't moved. We're both breathing heavily, anticipating for something to happen. Instead, he stands up straight, still looking down at me. He walks back to his chair and sits down. What the fuck?

Our director enters the room again and sits in his chair. He looks at both of us,

"Are we ready to try this again?"

I look back at her. Her eyes still blazing into mine with a prominent blush growing across her twinkling cheeks. "Yeah, I believe so."
