In the Wilderness
Oh, how much I want to tell her. To yell at her about what I'm feeling for her. I want to take her away from here. Just the two of us. In the wilderness somewhere. For two weeks or so. I don't think we would get out much. I would beg her to stay in bed with me the whole day. The sun would peek through the glass window of the master bedroom, making her look radiant in the light. I would pull her in by her arm. She would laugh at me and call me lazy before resting her head on my chest while bringing the thin sheet up to cover our bare bodies.

The thought is like a distant memory to me now as I lay here with her. Her newly bought wood cabin is almost an escape for the both of us. When she told me that she broke up with that asshole of a boyfriend, I couldn't wait to be alone with her. All I wanted her to do was know. Know that I fell deeply for her. And now here she is. Laying naked right next to me. Her breasts covered by my arm as I prop up on the other to watch as the one placed across her chest rises and falls with every breath. The rest of her is covered by a thin white sheet that reveals the curve of her legs coiling themselves around mine. Her head shifts towards mine in her sleep. Her nose almost touching my neck. The light coming from the small glass window make her skin glow. A sparkle around her cheekbones, forehead and the tip of her nose. My fingertips graze against the skin of her collarbones. "I love you, Checkered Pants. So goddamn much." I whisper into the shiny skin of her forehead before placing a kiss there. Before she can wake up from my words, I shift down to place the side of my face on her pillow, my nose colliding with her neck now, and covering her chest with not just the entirety of my arm, but as well as my shoulder. She shifts slightly due to the change in position. She moves her legs to further twist herself onto me. She sighs into me again, pressing her lips to my forehead.
"I love you, John Krasinski."
I smile, closing my eyes.
