"you look amazing, angel" sean complimented her, as he spun her around.

"you don't look bad yourself, lew" natalie giggled, placing her hand on his hard chest before placing a kiss on his lips.

"we're gonna be late for our reservations if we don't go now." sean glanced at the clock on the wall.

natalie nodded her head before grabbing a hold of his hand. he gave her a cheeky smile before making their way to his car. he opened her door like the gentleman he is. after he turned on the engine and started driving he placed a hand on her thigh tracing little drawings on it until they were there.

he once again opened the door for her and held her hand as they walked inside the restaurant.

"reservations for lew?" sean asked sounding highly sophisticated.

as they sat at the table and ordered sean noticed a familiar face looking his way. the one and only, kaycee rice. once she noticed him looking at her she quickly hid behind the menu pretending to be decide what to order. sean noticed her breathing get heavier and her lower lip start to tremble, she excused herself and made her way towards the door opening it quite forcefully making everyone's head turn.

sean quickly excused himself and found him running after her.

"kaycee, wait up!" sean called out to her, jogging up to her.

kaycee ignored him and kept walking to who knows where, she just had to get out of there.

"kaycee, come on!" sean bellowed, now running to keep up with the petite girl.

he grabbed her arm and spinned her around to face him. her face had tears dripping down her already damp cheeks, her eyes held sadness and tears in them. it made sean overcome with guilt, was this his fault?

"what do you want, sean?" kaycee snapped at him, yanking her arm out of his grasp.

"i just wanted to catch up ." sean mumbled, staring at her.

"screw that. what's the actual reason?" kaycee demanded growing irritated to the taller boy standing in front of her.

"i don't know, kaycee. it was a natural instinct." he admitted to her.

"i miss you, kayc." sean mumbled quietly, looking at her in the eyes now.

"no, it's been three years, sean. three! you can't see me, run after me and then say it was a natural instinct and then tell me you miss me when you didn't even try to get me back!" kaycee raised her voice, growing more and more angry with every word she hissed at him.

"what was i supposed to do? i had the perfect girlfriend i could ever ask for. i had my girlfriend and best friend and I couldn't of been happier but then you tell me you were hopelessly in love with me? what was i supposed to do? leave natalie and go running to you?" sean raised his voice matching up to kaycees.

"no, y-you were supposed to- i don't know, okay!" kaycee shouted frustrated.

"then why are you mad? you were the one that walked away from me, not the other way around! i was trying to fix this but you ran away! you were the one that threw away the friendship we had, you were the one that messed up not me, you were the reason i cried for months, i pushed everyone away, i iced them out and i stopped dancing but i realized that was the one thing that was helping me get through this whole thing!" sean argued, throwing his hands in the air.

"you don't think i know i messed up, sean? you don't think i didn't cry myself to sleep every night? i wish i never left and handled it with maturity but i couldn't deal with the pain. seeing you everyday with natalie just makes me feel like boulders were falling on me one by one and it was just getting too heavy." kaycee yelled pouring all her feelings out to sean.

sean's face softened as he saw kaycee pulling at her hair. he went up to her and grabbed her hands, just like the day when they were in his garage. the day the boulders that once were falling on her, started to fall on him.

"kaycee..." sean started with gentleness.

"look sean, i am so sorry. from the bottom of my heart, i wish i hadn't been selfish that day and considered the position you were in. i'm sorry that i ran away from our friendship. i'm sorry that i was the reason you cried for nights, i'm sorry, I'm so sorry." she apologized, tears falling down her face.

"it's okay. it's gonna be okay." he reassured her in a comforting manner.

"sean, you should go back to her." kaycee sniffled, pulling away from his embrace.

"kaycee, please..."

"no, go. she's your girlfriend."

"fiancée." he corrected without thinking.

"she's your fiancée, soon to be wife." kaycee didn't want to do what she was about to do, but it was hurting her too much and she had to let go.

"if i go, will you follow me?" he uttered, looking at her with his eyes that make her melt, everytime.

"no, i won't." she answered bluntly.

"if i leave, will i ever see you again?" sean whispered.

"no, you won't."

"if i said i love you right here, right now, will you say the same?" sean muted, his eyes showing hope.

"no, i won't." her voice hushed.

sean sighed, "i guess that's my answer."

"bye, kayc." sean waved, a fake smile plastered upon his beautiful face.

"bye, sean. see you later alligator."

"in awhile crocodile."

it just wasn't meant to be for the two young lovers, it was fate.
