_______________"sean, you need to learn how to drive." kaycee told the older boy who was busy scrolling through his phone.
"i will, soon." he assured her, looking up from his phone.
"you said that three months ago. i'm teaching you." kaycee informed sean, folding her arms over her chest.
"but-"
"no buts, i'm basically a pro." she scolded sean.
"you've only had your license for 2 months." sean rolled his eyes playfully.
"and you only had your license for- oh wait." kaycee stuck out tongue at him. sean's jaw dropped, but quickly closed it.
"can you even teach me?" sean questioned.
"not on the highway, stupid. just around our block and i'll teach you the basics." kaycee remarked, grabbing the keys to her car and his hand.
"fine, fine." sean gave in, kaycee knew that he would within minutes.
once they got into the car, kaycee taught him the basics. even though sean was annoyed and unenthusiastic, deep down he was eager to learn.
"so first, you want to move the gear to reverse, before you do that look at the back to see if you're gonna hit someone or something." kaycee informated him. sean did exactly what kaycee said.
"good job. now switch it to drive and start driving slowly, ease yourself into it. once you keep practicing you will become familiar with the gears and the peddles." kaycee beamed. the older boy following her instructions, backing out of the driveway slowly.
"stop! that's the-" kaycee started, "tree."
"sorry about that, should we go check it out?" sean apologized.
"no, no it's fine. just keep going and watch out."
he nodded and proceeded to back out of the driveway.
minutes later, sean was getting more used to the gears and the pedals, "good job, sean."
"and don't forget to not-" kaycee quickly put her input but was too late, "hit the fire hydrant."
"oh my go- sorry, that won't happen again." sean shook his head, rubbing his eyes.
"i-it's okay, sean. it's your first time and it wasn't that hard." kaycee reassured him.
"let's try to go around the neighbourhood." kaycee suggested.
an hour later, sean was still driving around the neighbourhood, music blasting throughout the car speakers. "okay, i think you're pretty ready, sean. you should take you drivers test."
"okay, fine. but only for you." sean groaned.
"now, time to practice parking." she cheered at her best friend, he was finally becoming a real man.
"good job, sean! you know that one more step and you will become a pro." kaycee congratulated sean, proud was an understatement.
"ahh!" kaycee screamed, covering her eyes when she felt the cat move backwards, speedily.
"sorry, forgot to put it in park."
"t-that's okay, just don't do that aga-" kaycee started before getting cut off when the car, one again, started rolling down the driveway.
"i'm so sorry, i-i thought that i put it in park." sean said, wide-eyed.
"sean, i swear if you forget to put it in park one more time." kaycee fumed, sick of his goofing around.
"okay, okay, okay. i won't do it again." sean said before jerking them forward.
"sean, i'm serious. if you do tha-" just to tease her, sean put it in reverse and stepped on the gas pedal, zooming down the driveway.
"i'm done, i'm done, i'm done, i'm done, nope, i'm done. i'm done. i'm done. yes i am, yes i am, yes i am. done. done. point. blank. done." kaycee repeated, frantically. literally jumping out of the moving car. shaking her arms in the air, walking towards the front door.
"come on, kayc. you said one step ahead and i'd be like a pro." sean yelled to the girl.
"yeah, i said that before you almost killed us! now, you took 2, 783 steps backyards." kaycee hollered back.
"you're so over dramatic!" sean teased, locking the car.
"me!? over dramatic? save it for the judge, sean lew." kaycee bellowed, her eyes all bugged.
"sAVE it FoR tHE judGe." he mocked her.
