Two weeks.... in two weeks I'd be going home and I thought I'd be happy about it but now, I was going to miss this place; I was going to miss chillin with my boys doing all type of crazy shyt that we had no business doing, I was going to definitely miss waking up to Miss Ethel's bomb ass breakfast, I was going to miss Jacobi because we had really started bonding since that whole Pastor Teague, I was going to miss the slowness of the south. It was different down here... it was like people actually took the time to stop and socialize, get to know each other, and actually cared about each other down here whereas up north it was every man for himself. But the person I was going to miss more than anyone was currently out with his family for his family reunion, begging me to come save him because he was over it; Semaj is outside of my mom, he was the most important person in my life and that eight hour drive was something I'd be willing to make every weekend if I had to because the thought of going months without seeing him was..... I had something planned for us before I left here though but for right now I was just trying to get away from my mom and aunt which led me to this situation I was in now.
"Aight Quran, really nigga shyt how was it?" Tripp asked looking at me and I couldn't speak, how these niggas convinced me to do this shyt was beyond me but I knew the second I spoke...... fuck this. I quickly spit out the food, ran to the sink, and started rinsing my mouth while Tripp and Torique howled with laughter. "Nigga I told you that shyt was spicy but your dumb ass wanted to prove you wasn't no bitch."
"I think my tongue it disintegrating." I said as tears poured from my eyes. "Man, what the fuck was in that shyt?" I asked trying to catch my breath but it was becoming difficult.
"Just some spices and a couple of Carolina Reapers." Torique said shaking his head before getting up to grab me a glass of milk and some bread but not even that shyt seemed to help because my mouth was on fire.
"That shyt was good as fuck, can I have another bowl?" Poochie asked wiping her mouth and we all looked her because there was no way in hell she was able to finish that shyt. "What? Quran you know I like spicy foods." She said getting up and fixing her another bowl of chili.
"A woman after my own heart... I swear that shyt is sexy as fuck." Torique said eyeing her lustfully and Poochie rolled her eyes but I could tell she wanted to smile, I was glad they got together because Poochie's last nigga was a bitch and he had an ass-whoopin coming when I got back to the city. "But are y'all ready to go? We need to get to the mall before it closes so put that food in the microwave and let's go." Torique said getting up and grabbing his keys.
Twenty minutes later we arrived at Lennox Square looking for something to wear to this party they were dragging us to, it fell on the weekend before I went back to Ohio. One thing about the south that I loved more than living up north was the asses.... down here nigga's asses were magnificent and perfectly shaped, damn I wished Semaj was here because he was quick to point out a fat ass.
"You really need to think about it Quran like forreal, just think you, me, and Torique get a house in the city, Atlanta is the entertainment capital of the world, sure Cali got Hollywood and New York got fashion but Atlanta has everything we can make our own brand down here so just think about it." Tripp said and it was on my mind but I wasn't making any decisions until I had my diploma in my hand.
"Heeeyyy cousin." Torique's cousin Ghonni said walking over to the table with the rest of his rainbow crew and Jerell stood close behind him eyeing me and Tripp closely. One of the things I loved about having Poochie as my best friend was the fact that she wasn't afraid to run interference if she caught something she wasn't feeling, so without a word she grabbed my hand and we pulled me away from the group and we walked into some random store.
"I could see it in their eyes they were plotting on you and I fight niggas?" Poochie said rolling her eyes. "These birds down here don't have no respect for relationships, like they know you're in a relationship yet they were about to take you into one of these dressing rooms and gang bang you."
