My aunt was fine... at least I hoped she was when I got back from the park with Uncle Frédéric she wasn't feeling too good, in fact from what I heard from my dad she had been experiencing severe headaches all day until finally she couldn't take it and had to go to the hospital. I had been trying to get in touch with Quran but he must've turned his phone off when he left with Semaj leaving me trying to find them, I should've known they had gone to the quarry..... I'd cuss him later right now I needed to calm him down but he was determined to get to his mom even if that meant he had to walk. Seeing that I couldn't deter my cousin from leaving I volunteered to take him up to the hospital, he agreed and we left the house... to my surprise I was actually concerned about my aunt. I hadn't spent any time with her but after spending the summer with Quran, I saw just how much his mom meant to him and the lengths he'd go to for her... I respected that. When we pulled up to the hospital and Quran sat there stuck, almost as if he was afraid to find out what was going on.

"Come on Quran, I'm sure it's nothing maybe she's just wasn't use to all the seasoning Miss Ethel uses in her cooking.... you know y'all northerners think a pinch of salt and a sprinkle of pepper is too much seasoning." I said trying to lighten the mood.

"What if she's....." Quran said his voice dripping with fear. He had already lost his dad and I knew losing his mom was the biggest fear he had. "I gotta think positive.... come let's go see what's going on." Quran said getting out the car. We got to the observation room and I let out a sigh of relief, my aunt was laying in bed laughing with my mom and Poochie, she appeared to be in good spirits.... but Quran he nearly broke down.

"Could I..... could I have a few minutes alone with my mom?" Quran asked and my mom looked like she was about to say something but I guided her out the room, with Poochie right behind us. When we got to the lobby, Poochie walked off to make a phone call while me and my mom sat down.

"So where's dad?" I asked wondering why my dad wasn't here with the rest of his family. My mom's lips became white woman thin, something that always happens when she's hiding something. "Is everything alright?" I asked and she nodded.

"Your dad is just tying up some loose ends.... for work. He has a lot of things he needed to get done but he should be back later on tonight." She said and I knew that her whole story was bullshyt. "Jacobi please don't ask questions.... at least not here and I would prefer if you'd wait until your aunt and cousin left." She said and I was starting to grow suspicious, she seemed nervous about something.

"Jacobi.... there you are, Rochelle how's Rachel doing?" My dad asked kissing my mom on the cheek, my mom started to respond but she was interrupted by Quran and my Aunt Rachel walking out of the examining room. "Good to see you're on your feet Rachel." My dad said kissing her the cheek. "Baby do you mind if I borrow Jacobi for a few? We won't be gone too long, I just wanna talk to him about a few things." My dad said smiling but his tone indicated that it wasn't really a question. My mom nodded and my dad took my keys, handed them to Quran before walking with me out of the hospital.
