I wanted to say I was mad that they were together but I couldn't form the anger, I wanted to pretend that I was shocked that Lucci was with Slayer but Slayer had always chased after my exes, hell I even wanted to say that I was happy because it gave me a reason to completely erase Lucci from my life but..... The only thing I felt was sadness because Lucci was so much better than he gave himself credit for and slumming with Slayer just proved to me how lost he really was and that shyt broke my heart. Although the anger never reached my heart there were still three people who were beyond pissed that Lucci had the audacity to show up here with another nigga; the first being Nazeer.... like I've seen him angry before when we were younger but that dude looked like he was about to turn Super Saiyan. The second person who seemed ready to turn this cookout into a shootout was Scorpio, that dude hated Lucci and I knew he was too fond of Slayer either so I could see it in his eyes that he was ready to start busting at the slightest acknowledgment from me. The final person who seemed upset was my Uncle Neji and that had a lot to do with seeing his son so upset more than anything.

"Wassup De'Vaugh?" Slayer asked walking over to us but my eyes were focused Lucci who looked a little nervous, before I could answer Scorpio walked over and I knew I had to get him away quickly because I didn't want anything popping off.... yet.

"Excuse me..... Scorpio run with me to the liquor store real quick, matter fact Naz you should come too." I said grabbing Nazeer and steering him out of the backyard before he started chucking hot coals at Lucci and Slayer.

"You should've let me beat both their asses; Slayer for being a snake and Lucci for being a hoe...." Scorpio said and I shook my head, this was obviously a ploy from Lucci to get a reaction out of me and I wasn't going to feed into it. "I'm serious Day-Day I've been telling you from the moment I met Lucci that he was a hoe and I've been telling you for years not to fuck with that nigga Slayer but do you listen to me...... nah you don't because you think you know everyth..."

"Scorpio shut the fuck up please, I'm trying to think...." I said needing silence to think about how I was going to deal with this situation when we got back.

"I wish I had a friend like Scorpio to warn me when I'm making a mistake...." Naz said from the backseat and I could tell he was doing that to irritate me. "I mean I'm the type of dude that takes what my friends say seriously and trust their judgment."

"Naz you had more clues than I did so obviously you're not that good at picking up hints, I mean Lucci told me all the stuff y'all did that dad we talked.... I told him to tell me and everything and for the most part, he did; I know about the threesomes with Jacobi, I know about that white bitch he was fuckin and her brother that he was fuckin behind your back... so obviously you CHOSE to miss everything Lucci was doing." I said looking at him through the mirror.

"Maybe if you would've told me that you were fuckin him instead of sneaking behind my back we could've figured this out sooner." Naz said.

"Y'all are really arguing over that hoe...." Scorpio said shaking his head. "The truth of the matter is he played both of y'all so the ONLY person y'all should be mad at is Lucci... but I got a way to help y'all through this when we get back let me beat his ass, y'all can pretend to be shocked when I punch his ass that way y'all can deny any knowledge of what I did...."

"Scorpio you better not lay a fuckin finger on Lucci....." I said looking him directly in the eyes and Scorpio smirked.

"Fine, I won't touch him.... IF you admit you still love that nigga." Scorpio said.

"I still love Luciano...." I said without hesitation. "Say what you want but it's the truth, I can't just stop loving him with the snap of my fingers, it's going to take time and patience so as my best friend I expect you to help me through this and Naz as my little cousin I'm going to help you get over him because that's what family is supposed to do." I said.

"Well, I can think of one way to get over that hoe..." Nazeer said and in the time it took to blink, Scorpio was being pulled into the back seat and the next thing I knew my best friend and my cousin were engaged in a damn near erotic kiss. Thankfully we were pulling up to the liquor store and as Nazeer walked inside I pulled Scorpio to the side because we really needed to discuss what had just happened.

"Scorpio.... Nazeer isn't thinking straight, I love you like a brother and I really don't care if you and Nazeer mess around but be careful you know how those rebound relationships usually turn out." I said and Scorpio just started laughing.

"Nigga where the fuck did you get anything about a relationship? We kissed... but you know me better than that Day-Day, I like to take my time to get to know someone before starting a relationship so if it happens it'll be way down the line..... relax and worry about what's going to happen once we get back to this cookout, speaking of how are we going to get this liquor considering none of us are old enough to buy it?" Scorpio asked and I wasn't blind to how easily he changed the subject but I was going to leave it alone and chalk what had just happened up to Nazeer being a little tipsy.

"Sup Uncle Peach." I said walking into the liquor store that was run by my Big Mama's brother, he was pretty lenient when it came to family so I had no problem grabbing a couple bottles besides want he had through that door could get him in way more trouble than selling to minors.

Once we got back to the party I noticed Slayer sitting at the car table with Dex and Uncle Neji, normally I would've been worried but for as good as Slayer was at gambling my Uncle Neji was ten times better; with Slayer distracted that meant Lucci was alone and I really needed some answers, so as he was talking to some chick that I didn't know I pulled him to the side of the house where we couldn't be seen and looked into his eyes.

"De'Vaugh you broke up with me remember? So please don't start questioning me about what I'm here with Sebastian... I mean Slayer." Lucci said quietly, but I didn't respond because I was too busy trying to see past the bullshyt and Lucci knew what I was trying to do because he shifted nervously. "I'm serious De'Vaugh leave me alone, I'm trying to have a good time and mind my own business so..... why are you staring at me like that? And why are you still holding on to my hand?" Lucci asked.

"Cuz Lil' Bit.... I'm not stupid, you came here expecting to get a rise out of me which means you want me mad at you, I'm just trying to figure out why. I mean I know you still have feelings for me otherwise you would've avoided this place like the plague but instead you came here looking to cause a scene." I said looking into his eyes. "What is your endgame?"

"De'Vaugh you broke up with me instead of working it out like a COUPLE is supposed to do so you really can't get mad that I moved on." Lucci said his voice still just above a whisper.

"You were fuckin me and my cousin behind my back Lil' Bit... and even though I should beat your ass for that I would never put my hands on you in that way and you haven't moved on otherwise you wouldn't be here so again I'll ask you; what is your endgame?" I asked and I didn't realize that we were damn near kissing that's how close we were standing to each other.

"Ayo De'Vaugh your uncle is looking for you." Zelle said coming around the building which caused me and Lucci to step apart quickly, Lucci quickly walked off leaving me standing there wondering why I couldn't quit him. "Ayy about that little scene... don't worry my lips are sealed." Zelle said and I was tempted to punch his ass because I still hadn't forgotten how he was trying to get with Lucci behind my back but I wasn't going to do that because at the moment I had much bigger shyt to deal with, the main one being whatever it was that my uncle wanted and the other was finding a way to get Lucci away from Slayer because that nigga was nothing but trouble. I stepped around the house and my eyes quickly scanned the backyard, Lucci was sitting on Slayer's lap, Nazeer and Scorpio were sitting by the pool laughing at something, and the final thing I noticed was Jacobi and Quran arguing by the grill with Jacobi storming off and August following after him... this was way too much drama and I needed a drink if I was going to make it through the rest of the day.....................
