CHAPTER 1 - The Beginning

Jeffrey Liam Sage is a Neurosurgeon and a professor at Columbia University. Back in high school, he was a golf and football varsity player and a straight A's student. Jeff is a very serious person and doesn't like to be fooled around with because of his very demanding job, but he's also has this very funny, friendly and goofy side to him that makes him so approachable.

Jeff lives near his Alma matter and where he is also currently working in.

He's also an on-call Neurosurgeon in the Columbia University Medical Center under the Milstein Hospital Building. With Jeff's busy schedule, one thing he never expected to have was a relationship.

"Why can't you just understand that I can't be with you every second of the day?!" Jeff yelled. "Wouldn't it just kill you to go to one dinner with my friends?!" Camille argued.

And then there's Camille, Jeff's girlfriend. She wasn't at all very demanding when they met in high school, she was sweet and smart, and Jeff loved her. In high school, Jeff wasn't in to monogamy and being with just one person, he was afraid of commitment until he met Camille Shaffer.

Camille was Jeff's first real relationship; it's the longest relationship he has ever been in. After high school, they broke up to pursue different things in college. Camille wanted to pursue the arts and an education in education, while Jeff wanted to go to med school and achieve his lifelong dream of being a neurosurgeon which he eventually achieved at a very young age.

Eventually as they grew apart, something was always missing in their lives. But one day, fate was upon them and they saw each other while they jogged in central park and reconnected after that. After a couple of months, they finally got back together and have been together for five years since their central park run in excluding high school.

"I've already gone to countless of dinners with your friends; tonight I just wanna meet up with my friends and have a good time." Jeff said. "You always see your friends!" Camille retorted. "When's the last time I've seen my friends?" Jeff asked rhetorically. "Oh wait! Never, because I'm always working!" Jeff exclaimed.

"Ugh! Fine, whatever! Do what you want." Camille replied in annoyance and walked out on Jeff. "Ugh! Camille! Don't you dare walk out on me!" He shouted. "What else do you want me to say? I haven't seen Chase in so long and I haven't been this free in so long!" He explained as he went after her. "We'll talk about this tomorrow." Camille said in a bitchy tone and slammed the door at Jeff.

So as planned, Jeff went to their usual waterhole. He sees Bradley sitting in their booth talking to yet another girl, but what can he do it was his bar after all. He went to the table and greeted Bradley, "What took you so long bro?" Bradley asked as sends the girl away. "I had another fight with Camille." He said. "I told you, it's time for you to let go of that nagging woman." Bradley said. "I don't know if I love her anymore." Jeff said.

"Oh my god, am I dreaming?" Chase snuck up on them and greeted everyone. "Dr. Sage is in the building!" He joked. Jeff stood up and hugged Chase, "God I've missed you." Jeff said. "I've missed you too, bro." Chase said and sat in the booth. Then Trip arrives, "What's up losers?" he greeted everyone.

Then Chase opened the topic about his roommate dilemma and the boys fool around and have fun for the rest of night.

"You see that Jeff?" Bradley asks Jeff as they look at Chase flirt with a brunette girl from their dare. "Yeah?" Jeff asked. "That's a vision of a young and free man." Bradley said. "Get to the point Walker!" Jeff whined. "After two years of not having any girlfriend, since Stacey had a fucking restraining order against him, Chase is happy." Bradley said.

"Dude are you that shallow? Chase, Trip and I aren't like you." Jeff retorted. "Yeah... But you used to be like me." Bradley said. "A mistake that I have to live with" Jeff said shaking his head. "Bro, you've got issues. I'm living the life while you're just wasting yours on someone who's clearly not permanent." Bradley retorted.

"You call sleeping with a different girl every night... A life? B, you're the one who's got issues." Jeff hissed. "Hey, I actually work too, you know." Bradley said. "Yeah you're a world renowned photographer, so you keep saying. But being with a different woman every night is nothing compared to the deep conversation you have at night, falling asleep in each other's arms, cuddling while reading books and having someone understand you for who you are." Jeff said.

"Oh my god what have you done to your balls?! You sound like a girl, bro!" Bradley said and then laughed out loud. "Dude you're such a douchebag." Jeff said and drank his glass of Jack Daniels. After they partied all night, drank, caught up with each other, Jeff went home very drunk.
