Laurel was spread out on the couch watching tv when she heard a knock at the door. She groaned and rolled her eyes at the thought of walking over there and answering it. Besides she looked a mess, she was five months pregnant and was slowly losing focus on how she looked. She simply didn't care.
Laurel slowly opened the door and found herself staring at two random guys. One looked definitely older and the other looked about her age.
"Can I help you?" She politely asked the two guys that looked so shocked looking at her. She already knew how this was going to go. They probably have the wrong apartment and if they are nice they are going to either congratulate her on the pregnancy or comment about it. It had been happening with a few strangers and it was definitely something she could get used to.
"Uhm, no sorry. We must have the wrong place." The older guy spoke up first.
"Your pregnant!" The younger one exclaimed.
Laurel was taken back causing her to pause for a bit. She didn't think it would happen at the same time. "Yes, and which apartment were you looking for?"
"Wait a minute. How?" The younger guy looked so confused looking at Laurel as if he knew her and they hadn't seen each other in a while.
"We should go. Sorry." The older guy rushed the other guy with him and they quickly got out of there. That was weird, Laurel thought. Maybe they are high on something.

From Jason:
Good morning. How are you? Hope your feeling okay.
She smiled reading his text.
To Jason:
I'm okay. You? Though my feet are starting to swell up an let me just say it's not a good look. How is your first day back to work?
From Jason:
It's alright. Though I can't help but miss New York where I was my own boss. I've just got back but my father is already double checking everything I do. Do your feet hurt as well?
To Jason:
Wow! I'd really like to meet that guy basing on the way you talk about him. And not really its just a swelling.
From Jason:
Trust me you don't want that. Or even want to come close to anyone in my family. I'll see what I can do. I don't want you to be in any sort of discomfort.
Laurel smiled already picturing Jason at his work desk googling about swollen feet during pregnancy.
To Jason:
You don't talk about your family much. Only your dad and it's always negative. I can't wait to see what you come up with.
From Jason:
It's because my family is the type that just drives you away.
To Jason:
That makes two of us.
From Jason:
That is why I'm making my own.
Laurel's heart skipped when she read that text. It's like one minute she was actually getting along well with Jason and the next the baby comes in and Laurel just starts feeling weird about everything. None the less she found herself rubbing her belly to which it replied with a small kick. She slowly smiled to herself.
