"Are you seriously wearing Doc Martens to a party, Annabelle?" Calum questioned as I followed him upstairs. Apparently, in our main common room, there was a back to school party or something.
"What's wrong with my Doc Martens?" I asked with a pout. Sure, they were a little tattered and dressed down my black dress, but they were my favourite shoes, and I wasn't about to start wearing heels to impress a bunch of rich kids that I go to school with.
"Nothing, you are just slightly undressed for the parties that we have here."
"Oh fuck off," I snapped as I followed him up the stairs, the sound of thumping music getting louder. Calum was in a white shirt and tan chinos, so I understood what he meant that I was underdressed.
"You ready?" Calum asked and I nodded as we walked into an extremely large room, filled with drug and alcohol-fuelled teenagers.
"Fuck it's just like being back home but only worse," I laughed as I picked up a red cup, filling it with vodka and lemonade.
"Yeah, I heard you have some slight drug and alcohol problems," Calum said seriously and I shrugged my shoulders, as it was pretty much true but I definitely wasn't an addict.
"You could say that," I mumbled, as I drank the liquid out of my cup, not swaying from Calum's side as I scanned the room for any familiar faces, which I found none.
"CAL!" an extremely gorgeous girl yelled, running over to us before throwing her ridiculously skinny arms around him.
"Hey Eloise," Calum said, returning the hug as I stood there awkwardly, looking around the room for a sign of Ashton, Michael or Luke, as they were the only people other than Calum, that I knew at this school.
"Who is this?" Eloise asked with a smile, a cup in her hand as she lazily placed her arm around Calum, who awkwardly shoved it off whilst Eloise looked disappointed.
"This is my friend Annabelle, she just moved here from Australia," Calum said with a smile.
"Hey Annabelle, I am Eloise Luxembourg," the girl with the thick American accent said. Her thick brown hair was flowing down her back, and I honestly could not understand why Calum was clearly not interested in her, as she was drop dead gorgeous.
"Hey Eloise," I said with a smile, before seeing a group of people outside, which seemed more like my crowd, so I quickly excused myself to the large balcony, where people were doing lines of coke.
"Do you mind?" I asked one of the boys, and he shook his head, as he made up a line for me, which I snorted straight away, the rush of the drug hitting me almost instantly, making me feel alive.
"God, who would have thought Annabelle Carrington would be doing drugs?" a voice said sarcastically, and I snapped around to see Luke Hemmings standing there, his arms folded in disappointment.
"What's it to you?" I questioned.
"Heard you got kicked out of your last school for smoking dope in the bathroom, didn't think you would be dumb enough to do coke on your what, third day here?"
"So I take it that you don't like drugs?" I scoffed, itching for another line to ease my nerves, which Luke was seriously getting on.
