4th of December 2015

'Do you have a dress?' Luke asked me as I lay in his enormous guest bedroom.

'What for?' I asked, closing 'The Great Gatsby,' and placing it on the bedside table.

'It's Jacks engagement party tonight, to Celeste,' Luke said sitting on the edge of the bed. His house was situated in the North Shore of Sydney, not too far from mine actually but I was not allowed to go there by myself.

'Yeah I have a dress,' I said standing up and walking over to the walk-in-wardrobe where all my clothes for the next month were situated. 'Will this do?' I asked as I pulled out a long, dark navy blue dress.

'That's perfect,' Luke said with a smile and I nodded before he headed out of my room and back into his own.

Luke's family were more than happy to have me here over the holidays, his Mum was like an angel and his Dad, no matter how busy he appeared, always had time for his family, unlike my own.

Liz came in to tell me that the party would be starting at 7 pm, giving me enough time to get ready and still have some time to relax beforehand.

I ended up putting my hair into a messy fishtail plait, slipping on some brown heels to match with my navy and black dress, before heading downstairs to meet Luke for a drink before the party began.

'You look stunning,' are the first words that came out of Luke's mouth when he saw me, a slight smile on his face, my cheeks now a deep red from his words.

'Thanks Hemmings, you don't look so bad yourself,' I commented as I picked up a glass of champagne for myself.

He was dressed in a navy blue suit, with a gold tie, which all the groomsmen were wearing. Luke's other brother Ben, was Jack's best man, whilst Luke and a couple of Jack's close friends were the groomsmen.

'I try my best,' he said with a smile as I followed him out to the balcony. The decorators has outdone themselves. The entire tennis court, backyard and pool area were decorated in silver, gold and pink. No detail had been spared, with even the bottom of the champagne glasses were one of the three chosen colours.

'This is incredible,' I said as I looked over the balcony, Luke standing by my side with a champagne in hand too. His house was three stories, fit with a cinema, indoor and outdoor pool and about ten bedrooms, when only four were needed.

It was quite modern, Liz said that they had it designed in late 2012 and only moved in at the start of this year.

'Yeah it's really something hey,' Luke said and I nodded before we were instructed by one of the butlers that we were to go down to the garden as guests were due to start arriving soon.

'Are any of your friends coming?' I asked and Luke shook his head.

'Calum is in Switzerland for the holidays, Ashton is in New York and Michael is in Russia for the holidays.'

'Why is Michael in Russia?' I asked with a laugh as we got into the lift that would take us to the bottom floor.

'Some of his dads family lives there, random I know,' Luke laughed as the elevator rushed down the floors before opening at the bottom, revealing a downstairs entertainment area, also decorated for the evenings festivities.
