8th of October 2015

'Annabelle?' I heard Luke knock at my door.

'Yeah come in,' I said as I closed my laptop, finally finishing my Physics assignment that was due tomorrow morning.

'What are you doing right now?' he asked as he leaned against my door, a small smile on his face.

'Just finished my Physics assignment,' I said before flopping onto my bed.

'Do you want to grab lunch in town?' Luke asked.

'In Paris or in Nomain?' I asked with a laugh.

'Nomain' he laughed. 'I'll drive.'

'Okay let me just put some shoes on and let's go,' I said quickly going into my walk-in wardrobe and slipping on some Birkenstock's before heading back out to Luke who was waiting for me.

'Alright let's go,' he said with a smile and I nodded as I grabbed my purse and phone before we headed down to the reception to sign out for the day and I followed Luke to his car. A BMW X5.

'Your car is nice,' I said with a laugh as I sat in the passenger seat, Luke turning the engine on and driving away.

'It was a sixteenth birthday present from my parents.'

'Lucky you.'

'What? Did you not get a car for you sixteenth?' Luke asked and I shook my head.

'My Dad doesn't really do presents, he just feeds money to us all the time so we can buy what we want pretty much.'

'When was the last time you celebrated your birthday?' Luke asked and I sighed, knowing that the last time I celebrated my birthday was just over three years ago.

'I think I was turning twelve or thirteen maybe?' I said but it sounded more like a question than an answer because I really had no idea.

'When do you turn eighteen?' Luke asked as I took in the mountains around us. As we headed into October the days started to grow cooler, but it was still warm enough for a tank top and jeans.

'February. What about you?' I asked.

'I turned eighteen in July, just before we came back to school.'

'Lucky you,' I laughed.

'Don't worry, we will have a massive party for you.'

'I have a house in Paris, I think I can throw my own massive party,' I said as we began getting closer to Nomain.

'Yeah but it's more fun when you don't have to do any of the work,' Luke said with a smile and I nodded in agreement as he did have a point.

We eventually reached Nomain, Luke quickly finding a park before we entered a small but cute cafe, both of us ordering a chai latte and a salad for lunch.

'Belle?' Luke asked.

'Mhmm?' I asked, knowing that I had drifted off again.
