25th of June 2016

'God freedom tastes so good,' I said as I lay on the grass with my nine best friends, as I had just finished my final exam, physics, along with Michael and Eloise.

'Now what do we do until graduation?' Violet asked, her head resting on Ashton's chest. Violet had decided to study part-time at Harvard, so she could still commit to her modeling commitments as well. Ashton was upset at first but then realised that he could always visit her and it was not like it would be that difficult for them, considering money was never a problem between them, only time and location.

'Pack I guess,' Luke said as he sat next to me, our hands intertwined, having missed the feeling since both of us had been two busy with exams to ever have a moment alone in the past month. I was feeling fairly confident with the results of my exams, and I knew Luke was too, so I was praying everything went our way so we could both go to Cambridge together.

'Party too,' Jake said with a laugh, all of us nodding in agreement, as we still had Luke's eighteenth to come and the array of graduation parties people would be hosting.

'Trust you to say that,' Calum said with a laugh and I knew Jake was rolling his eyes at him, because that is what he did whenever someone had a dig at him.

'I feel weird,' Eloise said with a sigh after a moment of silence.

'Why?' Cara asked, her head in Michael's lap, his hands playing with her incredibly blonde hair, a book resting on her chest as she had been reading by herself before we all decided to join her down here after the physics exam.

'Because we have just spent thirteen years of our lives at school and now it's over. Like, what do we do now?' Eloise huffed and we all just laughed at her, as she was the only one who was going to seriously miss school. Sure, I was going to miss seeing my friends every day and competing in school sports and so on, but I think Eloise was the only one of us who was going to actually miss going to lessons and having structure around our day.

'Go to University?' Michael asked, sounding confused at where Eloise was coming from, because ever since she had been a child, it was her dream to go to Oxford in England and everyone one of us knew it was going to happen.

'Yeah but you know, I won't see you guys every day though,' Eloise said sadly and I felt my heart drop, knowing that she really did care about something other than school and being on time.

'El we have private jets, seeing each other isn't going to be a problem,' my brother laughed and I just scoffed at his words, all of us knowing how privileged and pretentious he sounded.

'Stop being so stuck up,' I scoffed, sitting up to see Harrison with a cheeky grin on his face and Jake flicking the back of his neck to pull him back in line.

'Hey! I'm just stating the obvious,' Harrison laughed and I roll my eyes at him before resting my head on Luke's shoulder, his arm snaking around my waist, leaving me with a smile on my face and content feeling filling my body.

'What about over the summer though? That's three months without seeing each other,' Eloise stated and she did have a point.

'Well what's everybody doing this summer?' I asked, as nobody had really discussed our plans for the summer.

'I'm going home, as in Sydney,' Calum said simply.

'I'll be in the states, I have modeling and Harvard stuff to sort out,' Violet said, trying to suppress the grin on her face, even though we all knew she was excited for the next chapter in her life.

'I'll be with her, for a bit and then depending on where I choose to study, I'll go there for the last month to sort things out,' Ashton added.

'Michael and I are going to be in Paris for the first two months, then I'm heading back to London for University and Michael will be in America,' Cara said, unveiling her plans for the next couple of months, non of which we had heard before.

'Jake and I will be in New York for as long as we please, only heading to school two days before we are due there,' Harry said with a laugh, a loud 'whoop' coming from Jake and I could only imagine what those two boys will be getting up to in the next couple of months.

'I'll be in Sydney too, then at Cambridge with Luke hopefully,' I said with a smile, Luke quickly kissing my cheek before it was his turn to reveal his plans for the holidays.

'Same as Belle, I will be wherever she is.'

'God you are so fucking whipped mate,' Ashton laughed and Luke just rolled his eyes at him.

'Who would have thought by the end of school that Luke Hemmings would be head over heels for Annabelle Carrington?' Violet questioned with a grin.

'Not me!' everyone, including Luke and myself, shouted to no one in particular.

'Wouldn't change it for the world though,' Luke quietly, whispering the words in my ear for only me to hear. I smiled at his words, squeezing his jean clad thigh to let him know that his words were valued before Calum went on one of his tangents.

'Can you guys promise me something?' he asked, a sad smile on his face.

'Depends on what it is,' I said cheekily, a grin on his face as he just flipped my the rude finger and continued to talk.

'Once we have left this place, promise me that we won't be those friends who drift. I don't want to be walking down the street in five years time and bump into my high school best friend Luke and feel like strangers. I want to be the friends that last and the ones that are walking down the street together bumping into old classmates who we won't miss.'

'I never knew that those words would come out of your mouth Calum Hood,' Eloise laughed.

'Shhh El, I'm trying to keep us all friends forever,' Calum said with a small giggle. 'Now, can you all promise me that we will stay friends.'

'What if I find cooler and more normal friends in Cambridge?' I questioned, Calum ignoring my statement before continuing his tangent about staying friends forever.

'All of you, promise me,' he practically begged and I knew now that he was being serious. As a kid, Calum was only really close with Jake, Harry and me, mainly because a lot of kids would use him for his families money, which was messed up, because at five who would have thought people would be like that?

'Okay okay, we all promise you Cal, we will stay friends forever,' Michael said sincerely, all of us nodding in agreement.

'Good,' Calum said firmly as the sun began to set over the grounds of St Joseph's, the soft glow of the twilight sun admitting a beautiful reflection onto the school lake, something that I would miss.

'Let's get back to school, I think we are having roast beef for dinner and you know I can't miss that,' Luke said with a grin, everyone nodding in agreement, climbing back up the hill and making our way to the dining hall, a smile on all of our faces knowing that everything was going to be alright between us when school finally ended.
