The song Dec covers in the audition I've based on Calum Scott's version of Robyn's song 'Dancing on my own' ... in this Fic the song has never been covered like this before because obviously it's before Calum Scott's time :)

Ant whistled to himself happily as he made his way towards the audition room, spotting a worried looking Stephen amongst the crowd of contestants.

Stephen stood up upon seeing Ant walking towards him. "Where the hell have you been man!? I've been worried sick, the producers have been getting stressy and Simon was looking for you for that chat I'd told you about!"

"Hey woah keep your hair on I haven't been gone that long have I?"

"Like half an hour!"

"Wow Okay that is longer than it felt, I'm sorry, but I'm here now, what are we doing?"

"Are you Alright?"

"What makes you say that?"

"You seem... different." Stephen looked Ant up and down suspiciously. "What were you doing when you disappeared?"

"I was just showing a lost contestant where to go."

"Ahh that explains it!" Stephen leant in to whisper in Ants ear with a cheeky grin on his face. "Was he cute"

"Shut it will you!"

"Ah come on you've got to give me something! I don't think I've ever seen you look so happy since... well uh... ever!"

"Alright just so you stop bugging me, we bumped into each other and talked for a bit. He's the most adorably hot guy I've ever seen and he's auditioning with the 14th wave of contestants."

Stephen squealed and it was times like this Ant wondered who was the gay one. "Awe he sounds amazing! I've got to meet him! And guess what!?"

"What?" Ant replied rolling his eyes at his friends eagerness. He couldn't bring himself to be angry at his PA's inappropriate behaviour though, he was just in such a good mood.

"The 14th wave are in after this lot!" Ant smiled inwardly, really hoping he'd see Dec again soon, although he knew he'd have to talk to the other contestants as well. Maybe I can see his audition, I hope he's good. "Exciting right!? Anyway time to stop daydreaming man I think the cameras are coming over to film a few interviews of contestant leaving the audition room which means you're up."

Dec sat in the foyer nervously twiddling his thumbs and readjusting his hair. It had been 15mins since Ant had left him in the waiting room and since then the Geordies anxiety levels had gone from moderate to really high, verging off the chart. He doesn't normally get this nervous before preforming but normally he has his guitar, which he's always seen as an extension of himself, but now he sees it was really a shield. No one would mind his singing if he played well and vice versa but this time he was going to have to stand in front of 4 of the biggest names in British show business and sing whilst they listen and judge his every move, no music or mic to hide behind. Oh my god i feel sick, I can't do this, their just gonna laugh at me when I forget the words, or worse have a panic attack. Oh my god I really don't want to have panic attack today, please not today. The more Dec allowed his whirlwind of negative thoughts to consume his mind the more panicked he became and he almost jumped out of his skin when a crew member walked into the room and called his number.

The young Geordie followed a group of zealous contestants up the stairs towards the audition room. He caught bits of their conversations, some girls talking about how nervous they were, how long they'd been singing and how hot the presenter was. The mention of Ant made Dec feel a little more at ease but it wasn't enough to stop the familiar tight feeling in his chest and the increased rate of breathing, as his lungs panicked in their search of air.
