When did it get so awkward?
How did it get so awkward?
"If you, Kim Dahyun, is around, nothing will be awkward," they all claim.
But what is this?
Why is everyone sitting silently?
I shouldn't have come.
I glanced at the beautiful woman sitting beside me. She was happily eating her food, completely oblivious to this unusual silence.
Or unusual to me at least.
"W-," I made a sound, but barely said a word.
With just that, the whole table looked up at me, there was no turning back.
"Why are you all so quiet? Why don't you talk?" I asked them all.
The only thing I got in response were puzzled faces.
Except Sana, she had a smile on. A beautiful smile, actually.
"How do you talk while eating?" And suddenly, I felt like an idiot.
That's right. No one could talk while chewing.
I kept silent and stared back at her.
And suddenly she laughed while giving me an "I told you so," look.
Her laugh was contagious and soon I started laughing too.
Seokjin and friends on the other hand, watched us laugh with what seemed to be confused faces.
-
"Are you taking the bus back?" I asked Seokjin hoping Sana would hear me.
I knew she took the bus, I saw her get out of one a few weeks ago.
Bus 23, I slowly recalled the numbers in my head.
"No, my older brother's picking me up," He replied.
"You?" I turned to her.
"Huh?" Even her puzzled face was the cutest thing I'd ever seen.
"Bussing back?"
"What on earth is bussing!" She commented
"Taking a bus back, grandma," I rolled my eyes sarcastically as she flung her hand to lightly hit my head, both of us still having our smile on.
"I'm taking 23!" I said before she could hit me anymore.
Now to be honest, there were at least two other busses that brought me home almost twice as quick as 23, but this was how much I wanted time with Sana.
"Same," She smiled as she walked towards the busstop.
"Great! Let's go!" We bid our goodbyes to the rest of them and headed towards the bus.
So Sana and I walked together, but that was it, no talking.
"Why are you so quiet?" I turned to her with a curious look on my face.
"Why are you so loud," She retorted as she let out a laugh.
"I..," Suddenly the great talkative Kim Dahyun... was speechless.
"Don't know," I shrugged and continued walking only to realise Sana was no longer beside me.
Maybe it was the absence of her vanilla scent that gave it off, or the entire aura of her presence.
I turned back.
"You're so cute Kim Dahyun," She giggles as she stretched out her hands to pinch my cheeks.
She walked towards me and reach for my face.
"Stop~" I whined as I moved away.
I hated people touching my face. Sana was the only exception, but somehow I... panicked?
And so I reached out for her face.
She chuckled as she pushed my arm away.
And that was how the trip home went by.
We'd do silly things to each other then laugh it off.
And I loved that.
-
"Text me when you get home!" Sana said as she gave my shoulder a "goodbye" tap.
"F-for what?" It's not that I hated the idea of it. Heck, it made me so excited on the inside.
But I still wondered why it was necessary for her to ask for it.
"So I know that you've reached the dorm safely?"
How caring she was. Constantly, constantly driving me over the edge.
The sweetest human being. Sana Minatozaki.
"I- I don't have your number," I stammered. I didn't want it to sound weird, like I was trying to get her number.
But I was.
"Pass me your phone,"
And so I obeyed.
In what seemed like a second, I had my phone back in my hand with a new contact labelled "mntzk".
"'M, N, T?- Oh,"
"Was it that hard to guess?" She burst out in laughter for the hundredth time today.
"No, I'm just stupid," I shrugged.
"You're not!" She stroked my hair.
My sticky hair that had just went through a lot of exercise.
"Bye now," she waved as I turned away from her and walked off, trying to hide that smile that... didn't seem to want to hide anytime soon.
