Words from the Author:
At this moment, I'll be taking my time with this episode since I have other things to do. I need to get myself fixed with my time of going to sleep. I've spent so many hours writing my episodes that it leads to a huge lack of sleep. I need to take it easy. Neon Genesis Evangelion belongs to Anno and I'd seriously love to meet him while hopefully being able to talk to him about Eva.
Episode 11: The Difference Between Them
Since the day Asuka was ill, the school week quickly went by with the children currently at NERV as they're on the verge of taking their synchronization test. Although, Nero will have to wait until the everybody else finish their examination first due to Touji participating in Unit 03's entry plug first. This is obviously because of Nero's position of being the possible replacement, basically making it Touji's last chance to prove he can pilot. While the test begins, Misato, Nero and the rest of NERV's personnel are within the viewing room as they watch the others' progress.
Misato temporarily stares at the immense Plexiglas that shows the pilots' entry plugs prior to concentrating towards Maya with seriousness portrayed. "How's it going?"
Maya observes the screen that's in front of her, displaying the individual pilots, with a bit of amazement. "You won't believe this, but Mari and Asuka have the same synchronization. They're both at 95%."
Misato's eyes widen while fairly surprised. "Really?! That's rare!" The purple-haired woman shifts her vision to the entry plugs, thinking with a plain demeanor, "The last time any of them synchronized was when I had Shinji and Asuka work together to fight the 7th Angel."
Simultaneously, Nero journeys toward Misato's side with his arms folded and curiously watches the entry plugs. He's presently dressed in a plugsuit that's completely black while the number "03" on the upper part of the plugsuit's chest is white. Also, Nero's attire is similar in appearance to the pink suit that Mari wore, but instead of wielding round orbs on the chest area below the number and atop the hands, has crosses that are gem-like. "Real interesting. For those two to have their sync ratio match when they don't like each other is very ironic." The lad smirks amidst him restraining the urge to laugh.
Misato nods in agreement to Nero's comment without switching her focus from the plugs. "Yeah... If only they would put their issues aside, they'd work well together." She becomes a tad concerned as she gazes at Maya again. "How's Touji?"
Maya turns her head to the right to see Misato with sadness arising. "He hasn't been able to establish synchronization, Colonel."
Misato's consumed by dread as she mumbles during the resetting of her attention toward the exam, "Poor, Touji."
Nero emanates an indifferent behavior while thinking, "He must feel crappy right now. Nothing can be done once an Eva rejects its pilot though."
During that, Touji sits inside Unit 03's entry plug with irritation brimming as he's looking downward. "Dammit! I still can't sync with it!" The jock peers at the ceiling. "But why?! Nero made it work! So why can't I do it?!"
At the same time, Ritsuko stands on Maya's left to view the monitor that exhibits Touji's status and ultimately thinks with a solemn attitude, "It's no use. This is the third attempt, and from what Misato told me, Nero was capable of synchronizing with the Eva while configured to Touji." The doctor glimpses at Nero with some worry as she thinks, "I continue to be baffled by how much he resembles Shinji. If they aren't related, can we really leave it at being a mere coincidence?"
Nero randomly mounts his hands behind his head while depicting Misato out of the corner of his eyes as he passively utters, "It's an unfortunate situation."
