"No," Damon said fervently. "No, no, no way in hell."

Riley rolled her eyes, taking a pool cue from Enzo. "I wasn't asking for permission, and you can't tell me what to do."

"You're idiotic," Damon spat. "You and Matt Donovan think that you're gonna take on the travelers?"

"Me, Matt, Tyler, Jeremy, Liv... why is that such a big deal?"

"'I'm about to get myself killed by a freaky witch cult, why is that such a big deal?'" he mimicked her, putting on a high voice that made Enzo laugh.

"I can take care of myself," she reminded him, taking a shot with her cue and completely missing the white ball. "I'm in this house alone with two murderous vampires, I think I can handle a couple of witches." Enzo scoffed and took the cue back from her.

"The travelers aren't your normal witches," Enzo told her. "You realize they take down vampires with ease, right?"

Riley rolled her eyes again. "You can both save the concern. Tyler's a hybrid, Jeremy's a hunter and Liv's a witch. Plus, the travelers aren't targeting humans, so I think I'm good."

"You're delusional," Damon said. Enzo nodded in agreement.

"Speaking of delusional," Enzo started, smirking at Damon. "You and Elena. You broke up, that I get. Then you slept together – not smart, but again, I get it. Now here's where it gets a bit hazy for me... you went to a parent-teacher conference?"

Damon shrugged. "Jeremy was having some trouble at school."

Riley giggled. "You're like a divorced couple who still want to put on a united front for your wayward teenage son."

"We're taking some time apart," Damon frowned at her.

"Which is exactly what divorced parents say," she said, still smiling. "I should know: I'm a child of divorce."

"So you're in a 'friends' phase," Enzo mocked. "Where you, her friend, watch as she moves on with her life and finds a new boyfriend... perhaps a nice gentleman from a fraternity. Chance, or Brock."

"Does your mysteriously missing girlfriend know how insufferable you are?" Damon asked. Riley gasped in surprise, snatching the pool cue from Enzo and leaning on it.

"Wait a second, girlfriend? What girlfriend?"

Enzo didn't answer, and Damon smirked.

"Doesn't matter, he hasn't found her. Probably because she doesn't want to be found."

"I haven't found her because the travelers decided to play a fun game of spontaneous combustion before giving me what they promised," Enzo grimaced bitterly.

"So what? They're dead?" Riley asked.

"It would appear so," Enzo answered. "Though I doubt that our traveler problem has been solved."

"Right, so now you're here, annoying me," Damon said.

Enzo smirked. "Well, we can always go out and kill people..." he trailed off when he caught the expression of outrage on Riley's face. "But I suppose that's what got you into this problem in the first place."

Riley felt her phone vibrate, and pulled it out to see the message that she'd been waiting for.

Matt: Liv's here. Where are you?

"I'll see you two idiots later," she called to the boys.

"Where are you going?" Damon asked suspiciously. Riley smiled as she walked towards the front door.
