We rode in the car for what felt like forever. I stuck close to Nick on his shoulder, but he kept me on his left. Just so people wouldn't catch a glimpse of me through the window I assume, since his window was on his right. Anyways, I was on his left, closer to Marshall's side, which I didn't like very much. He would off an on keep glancing over at me. At this point, I had no idea what type of Cannibal Marshall was. Is he just doing it for Nick? Or, what?
I guess, I might want to stay close by to Nick just in case."So, what was going on with you lately? What made this kid get involved?" Marshall begun to ask Nick, while keeping his eyes on the road, but would occasionally glance over towards him.
"I don't know much about what was going on. All I heard was Alton's Dad worked with some people who were going outside of their limits with her." Nick explained, turning his head to look over at Marshall, I had to scoot back up onto his shoulder some more from the way he turned his head, almost smacked into me. He turned his head slightly away from me when he realized he nearly hit me, but so he could still see Marshall.
"What were they doing to her?" Marshall rested his left hand at the top of the sterring wheel while he drove.
I shifted in my spot, looking towards the windshield, seeing the trees and soon buildings go by."Testing, something like that." Nick looked down to his hands in his lap.
"What kind of testing?"
I could see in the corner of my eyes, Marshall looking over at us. But I tried to ease myself from being around a new giant and watch out the window. Wasn't helping me whenever he called me those.. names."I don't really know, I haven't gotten to hear that much." Nick answered without paying much attention to his God Father anymore, and pretty much did the same thing I was doing and would watch out his window.
"Wasn't talking to you." Marshall blankly said.
Huh? My head shot up towards him, when I noticed his eyes were glancing more to me than Nick.
"What did they do to you? You would be the one who would know." Marshall pushed for me to answer.
"U-um.." I tried to push for myself to speak, but nothing would come out from my lips, instead of nervous mumbling.
Subconsciously, while I tried to speak, I traced a line on my belly. My blue eyes looked up to Marshall who was looking at me with confusion. He wasn't getting it.I got frustrated, my anxiety was getting in the way of me communicating. At this point, I just thought it would be best to show him and let him figure it out for himself. I grabbed the end of my shirt, pulling it up a little bit to show the scar that was going across my stomach.
Marshall's eyes narrowed, like he was finally putting it all together.
Nick turned his head to see what I was showing them, his eyes twitched slightly bigger for one second."They hurt you? Did they take something or did they just cut you open?" Nick asked me with curiosity.
"Just cut me.." I barely mouthed the words to him, he seemed to have understood.
Marshall laughed loudly, making me quickly turn my head towards him.
"They always talked shit about Cannibals, and now the Novians took a step down to our level. They were just as bad."Is he really finding this as amusing..? Well, I guess I shouldn't be surprised. By the way he's talking, he defiantly seems like he's a Cannibal.
"Marshall, I think we can already figure out that not all Novians are good. There will be some that will bend the rules and do things like this." Nick sat up more in his seat.
"Right or wrong, we need to sort this out."
