Chapter 21: A Pleasant Suprise

SAMANTHA'S P.O.V

The next morning I woke up feeling alright. Not the best, but not the worst either. I turned to check the time, realising Ethan was laying right next to me.

Me: "Ethan? What're you doing here?"

Ethan: "Good morning to you too! We're going for a morning jog, so get up!"

Me: "It's seven in the morning?" I said realising the time.

Ethan: "Exercise is scientifically proven to up your mood! Stop being such a grumpy pants, be downstairs in ten!" He said giving me a soft kiss on the cheek.

Well, I guess I've got nothing to lose! I did my hair up into a ponytail and threw on some yoga pants and an oversized T-shirt.

Ethan: "All ready?" He said excitedly as I entered the living room.

Mum: "Hey sweetheart, I've made some French toast for you and Ethan."

Me: "Thanks Mum!"

After eating our food, Ethan led me out the door.

Ethan: "Ok, so we're going to walk past the beach leading us into the park and we can feed the ducks by the pond. Sound good?"

Me: "I suppose, don't we need to stop by the bakery for the bread?"

Ethan: "There's a bakery just past the beach. It's on the way to the park anyway, so it's all sorted! I know your going through a rough time, but remember you've always got me." He said soothingly while rubbing my back as we made our way up to the beach.

Once we arrived, Ethan grabbed my hand and pulled over to the ground.

Ethan: "Let's just sit for a little. Enjoy the sun, get some Vitamin D!"

Me: "Trust me, I've got enough Vitamin D!"

Ethan: "Oh really now?" He said in a cheeky tone as he started tickling the sides of my stomach, the most ticklish part of my body!

Me: "Eth-an! St-op! Haha!" I yelled while trying not to burst out into laughter.

It was really nice to sit in the beautiful sun. The sun was shimmering over the ocean, it was so peaceful.

Ethan: "It's beautiful aye." He whispered calmly.

I wrapped my arms around his body and it was a warm, tingly feeling. It felt good, I felt safe and protected. I felt like I was... In love.

We had finally arrived at the park after getting a loaf of bread from the bakery. Sadly, Ethan and I had forgot to bring money with us so Ethan decided to steal the bread. Luckily we weren't caught, I think.

I had no choice but to run straight up to the pond, as it was so pretty with the suns reflection.

It was just a second ago when I realised this was the park he brought me to on the day we met.

Me: "Ethan! Wow, the memories!"

Ethan: "I knew you'd like it babe!" He said holding me in his arms. His eyes showed so much joy as they clicked with mine.

Me: "Ethan, I'm sorry for acting the way I have been. It's just, I'm really close with my Mum and-"

Ethan: "Sam, I told you it's fine! I love you no matter what, you just need to except that! Your not going to loose me, I'd do anything for you!"

Me: "Aww Eth, that's the sweetest thing you could ever say, I love you!"

We were awkwardly standing there grinning at each other, when I noticed something from the corner of my eye.

The ducks had made their way into the bread we had left on the ground, and it was everywhere!

Ethan: "Oh... Woops!" He said bursting into laughter.

I joined in, uncontrollably.

Ethan: "Well, I'd say that's a jog well done!" He said referring to the saying 'a job well done'.

Ethan: "Get it? Haha!"

Me: "Oh I get it alright, I agree, what a jog aye!"

Ethan rushed to his house as I rushed to mine, after a good morning jog.

Time for school, I put on some clothes and did a quick braid across my hair.

Me: "Bye Mum! I'll see you after school!"

Mum: "Sure sweety, see you then. Don't get home too late!" She yelled as I walked out the front door.

For the first time Ethan wasn't waiting outside my door, that's unusual! I thought I'd better go check on the guy.

I arrived at his house too see him as well as his Dad, Mum and sister at the front yard surrounding something I wasn't sure of just yet.

Me: "Uh hey, what's up?" I asked curiously seeing Ethan's head peek up.

Ethan: "Ah Samantha, I'd like you to meet someone!" He said as his family moved out of the way so I could find out what was happening.

I saw a small white fluffy thing, as I got closer I began to realise that it was a puppy!

Me: "Oh my gosh Ethan I love dogs! Ahhhhh!" I said way too excitedly!

Nicole: "Haha well I'm glad you've got another person to adore!" She said looking back at Ethan's Dad David and winking then looking back at us two.

Ethan: "Nah! She'll always love me more!" He said opening his arms as I ran into a big hug.

David: "Hmm I don't know, Sam you've got to be careful Ethan doesn't get too close with this little girl!" He said as a joke.

I slowly went up to the cute little fella.

Me: "Hello cutie! I'm Samantha!" I said softly, realising she looked scared.

Nicole: "She'll take a while to adjust to the new environment, but I'm sure she'll warm up to us all pretty fast!"

Me: "She's absolutely adorable, what's her name?"

Nicole: "Well, we aren't entirely sure-"

Ethan: "Daisy! Her name is Daisy Ash Karpathy!"

Me: "Cute name Eth!" I said smiling at the little angel as she ran up to me.

Nicole: "Ok now I think you two should get to school, don't you think?"

Ethan: "Yeah I reckon, but the buss-"

He was cut off by a tall dark scary looking man that came out of no where.

"Excuse me, but I believe we have a problem..."
