Chapter 9: A Good School Day

ETHAN'S P.O.V

I kissed Samantha, and she kissed me back. There's just something about her, I can't explain. She's not like most girls, she's.. She's special.

SAMANTHA'S P.O.V

He slowly ended the kiss, moving his soft lips away from mine. It was amazing.

Ethan: "I'll see you at school." He said smiling as he walked away.

I quickly ran inside.

Me: "Hi mum, hi dad." I said as I was rushing to my room.

I don't know what I wanted to do next, but I felt like jumping around my room with happiness.

As soon as I got to my room, I flopped on my bed and thought about the day.

I looked at the time, and it was 10:00pm. I was so tired so I decided to get some sleep, after putting my phone on charge and setting my alarm.

I woke up, checked the time, and it was 7:57am. For the next 3 minutes I thought about last, which gave me a huge smile!

After my alarm went off I jumped out of bed and heard my phone beep. I picked it up and saw that I received a text from Ethan.

(Ethan 💘: Hey, wanna walk to school? Meet me at my place at 8:30❤️.)

A love heart?! I decided not to text back and keep it a mystery for him, because you know, that's just how I like it.

I got ready as fast as I could. After I did my usual morning routine, I took a good hard stare at myself in the mirror. I wanted to look extra special in front of Ethan so I decided to wear some makeup. Light foundation, mascara, eyeliner and blush. A few minutes later, I was out the door.

As I was walking to Ethan's house I checked the time on my phone, and it was 8:30. That's fine, I'll be there in about a minute anyway. I finally arrived at Ethan's front yard, to see Ethan standing there, leaning on his mailbox like he's been waiting all day.

Ethan: "Phew, I thought you would never make it!" He said sarcastically.

Me: "Yeah well I never knew one minute late would count." I said while trying not to laugh at Ethan's fail of a duck face.

Ethan: "Come on then!" He said while grabbing my hand and rushing out of his front yard.

We got to school, with him still holding my hand. Tyler, Dylan and Zac ran up to Ethan. Zac being a loud mouth and all, yelled something everyone heard.

Zac: "Ethan and Samantha sitting in a tree!"

I looked at Ethan, to see his face bright red. I think I must've blushed too because Ethan was looking at me laughing.

We walked to our lockers, and Sasha pulled me aside.

Sasha: "Hey girl, so what's up with you and Eth?"

Me: "Hehe I don't know, nothing I guess."

Sasha: "Oh come on girl!"

Me: "Fine, I like him. More than a friend."

Sasha: "Ha! I knew it!" She said like she'd just found out who stole her nail polish.

At recess I was simply talking with my group, and having a good laugh, when I turned to my side to see Hayley staring at Ethan.

Hayley: "Hey babe, I need to talk."

Ethan: "No Hayley, no. Not now, never."

I looked at him and he gave me a warm smile. I gave him one back.

Hayley: "Augh! How could you Ethan!" She said storming off.

I gave him a quick thank you. The bell went off and Ethan helped me up, and we walked to Science holding hands.

Teacher: "Now everyone, remember your pairs for your Science project? Has everyone nearly finished? It's due tomorrow!"

Ethan looked at me and bit his lip.

Ethan: "Come over to my house after school, we can work on it there." He whispered.

After I agreed, the teacher put us in groups of 3 for a little experiment.

Teacher: "Um next group will be Hayley, Ethan, and Samantha."

Oh great, perfect combination aye! Note my sarcasm.

Teacher: "Everyone go put on an apron."

Hayley: "Ew no, they are so out of style."

Ethan and I just laughed while putting our aprons on.

We quickly rushed over to a bench. Hayley gave me a death stare, but Ethan rubbed my hand which made me feel safe with him.

We had to pour liquids together and Hayley wanted to go first, so whatever, we let her.

After she had mixed really ugly coloured liquids, she turned towards me.

Hayley: "See, this is how you do it." She said as if I was in grade 2.

She turned back towards the bench, with her elbow hitting the glass tubes with the liquids in it, and it spilt all over her dress.

Teacher: "Everyone look at Hayley, this is a perfect example of why you need to wear an apron!" She said while laughing.

Everyone was laughing at her. Ethan and I couldn't control our laughter, she looked ridiculous!

After a hilarious Science lesson, it was time to move to our next Class, which was music.

We walked into the music room and sat down.

Teacher: "Hi everyone. Today I will be assessing you all on your voice. Please choose a song of your choice, and wait for your name to be called out. I'll give you all 2 minutes to choose a song."

I hate being the centre of attention. I was so nervous that I was shaking!

The teacher decided to do it in alphabetical order by our last names, and my last name starts with a B, so I had to go before Ethan.

Everyone was pretty good. After a few people sung, I heard the name I didn't want to hear.

Teacher: "Samantha Blume?"

I got up on my feet and looked back at Ethan.

Me: "Wish me luck." I said nervously.

Ethan: "You'll be fine!"

I walked up to the front of the room and started singing 'the voice within' by Christina Aguilera.

As I finished, I felt relieved that it was over. Everyone clapped and the teacher told me I had a lovely voice. I saw Ethan's jaw drop as I headed towards him.

Ethan: "You didn't tell me you could sing like that!"

Me: "I didn't know I could sing."

Personally, I think my voice isn't special. I think it's just alright, but Ethan seemed to think I had a talent.

After a few more people, It was Ethan's turn.

Teacher: "Ethan Karpathy?"

He stood up and walked to the front of the room, and he looked pretty comfortable.

He sung 'The A team' by Ed Sheeran. He must love Ed Sheeran, so far that's all I've heard him sing. It was magical! The teacher congratulated him on having such an amazing voice, and the class was over before I knew it.

The rest of the day was fun, and we were mucking around a lot. I'm so glad I have Ethan, without him class would be super boring.

When school finished, I walked up to Ethan's house with him after saying bye to everyone.

When we were halfway up to his house, he stopped me and looked into my eyes. His eyes widened and he looked so cute.

Ethan: "I love you Samantha."
