[Song for the chapter: Mean - Taylor Swift]
Tori's P.O.V
The car ride from school to Fred's house was dreadfully silent. We decided that it's best for everyone to be with Fred right now. We still don't know what he meant by, "He's back."
Currently we're all sitting around Fred's bedroom. Thankfully Mr. and Mrs. Foster aren't home yet.(Fred's Room : imagine the H on the wall as F)
I'm sitting on the chair now, with Harper sitting on the table. Alex on the ground, leaning against the bed and Fred's on the bed, leaning against the wall. He's been starting at nothing for the last 20 minutes.
Everyone's face is filled with confusion. Thousands of questions are running through all of our minds.
I nudge Harper, indicating I'm going to approach Fred. I stand up, brush away some invisible dust from my jeans, before climbing on the bed and sitting beside Fred.
I take a deep breath, Alex looks at me and gives me a encouraging nod. We decide it's the best for me to start the conversation.
"Hey, Fred," I start, putting my hand on his shoulder, "can you tell us what's wrong?"
"Cause we didn't understand what you meant by, He's back." Harper adds, now sitting on the bed too.
Fred doesn't open his mouth, Alex walk up to the bed, and sits there. "C'mon dude, we're family. We'll help you, no matter what." Alex says softly.
"You didn't," Fred looks at Alex, "None of you did."
We stare at each other. Before I know, I'm speaking again. "Now, we will. No matter what happened in the past. We're never leaving your side now."
"Tell us what's wrong, let us help you." Harper says.
"Thanks, all of you. You did help me back then." He whispers. "But it was too late."
"He's Back." Fred repeats, "Hayden Gonzalez."
Alex shoots up from the bed, and starts to pace back and forth in the room. Harper, clearly shocked runs a hand through her dark blue hair and I probably look like I just got hit by a bus.
Who's Hayden Golzalez? He used to go to our school. He had a badboy reputation, but he wasn't in the popular group. He never had any friends. Everyone used to be scared of him, including all of us. Back in freshmen year, He used to bully people. Fred was a regular. He didn't tell us about it. Hayden would beat him up when he was alone, never once did he touch Fred around us.
One day, we all went to Fred's house without telling him. He was sprawled across the floor of his bedroom, with blood flowing from his abdomen, where hayden kicked him and his right leg was clearly broken. We forced him to tell us what happened, and he told us everything. We told the office about it, and he was sent to some school where people were disciplined or something like that. He wasn't supposed to be back before senior year. But he's back now. Fred's been through hell, he was depressed and used to cut.His marks are almost gone now. I cannot see him like that again. Ever.
