[Song for the chapter:
Daddy issues- The Neighborhood]Tori's P.O.V
"So you visit this park often?"
"Shh" He says, without looking at me.
After I accepted his offer, he instantly pushed me into his car and drove here. This is kind of a hill-ish mountain-ish kind of place. It's pretty popular for picnics or just hanging out, but it really gets busy; especially during the weekends. Most of it is just empty space with a few trees and benches, it has a lake and then there's a forest. Well not exactly a forest, but it has enough trees to get lost in for a while.
We exit the car and he grabs my wrist and starts walking, me following him.
When we finally reach the park area, it's just as crowded as I remember. I look around trying to find any empty benches but fail.
"There's literally no space to sit."
He doesn't look at me as he keeps walking, making me do the same since he's holding my hand.
"Um...Nathan? Where are we going?"
We finally reach the kind-of-forest area.
"Come on." He grins.
"We're going here? You do realize it's restricted right?" I say, pointing to a wooden sign board.
"So what? No one cares." He keeps grinning.
"There's a guard standing right there." I whisper-shout to him.
He smirks.
He pulls me over to the guard.
"Could you help us?" Nathan asks.
I look at him in confusion.
"Yes?" The man replies. He looked old, as if he was in his early-sixties
"See, we were walking her dog and it kind of ran off somewhere. It was a golden retriever, just a month old. Can you help us find it?" He gives the man a hopeful smile.
He sighs, probably because of our childish behavior, "Miss, where did you lose it?"
I keep my mouth shut and turn to glare at Nathan.
"She's too sad to speak." He smiles sheepishly at the man, puts and arms around my waist and pulls me closer, "just try to look around, maybe ask some people if they've seen it?"
"Jesus christ." I mutter under my breath, but not quiet enough since both of them look at me.
He sighs again, "You control your girlfriend, I'll look for the bloody dog."
"I'm not his girlfriend." I grit out, but he's already gone too far to listen.
"Who cares, he's gone, come on." He extends his arm and smirks.
I roll my eyes but then a smile makes its way on my lips, "You sure we won't get into any trouble?"
"No." There's that cockiness again, but it only makes my smile widen.
Nathan grabs my wrist and pulls me under the shadow of the large trees. He starts to run through the forest, not listening to me screaming for him to stop.
I have no idea how my legs keep up with his pace. My eyes are almost shut close, all I can hear is the rumbling of the wind, the sound of our feet hitting the ground filled with dried up leaves and Nathan's hysterical laughter.
Nathan finally stopped running and I guess I was too scared to open my eyes as I crash into his body. He holds me and doesn't let go until I become steady.
