Serenity

I've read a statement in a book that makes me want to share to everyone so that they won't have to undergo the same process or the same decision as I did. Choose your lifetime partner very wisely and carefully for it's from this one decision comes ninety-percent of your life's happiness or misery. But there really are things that has to happen. There are things that just go beyond our control. Besides, it's not your mistake that will matter in the end but it's the fact that you learn and make up to make it right. I don't regret any of those decisions I made in the past because those led me here.

"Are you ready?" Five asks with me not even knowing that he's already inside our room.

"Yes."

I heave a deep breath, look at myself in the mirror for one last time, and then, face my husband with a smile. "How did you end up so gorgeous?"

"How did I end up with you?" I snap back, making him smirk.

"You're head over heels with me. And I can't blame you." "It must be the Palmer thing."

"Wow." Nginisian ko rin siya saka umirap. "Yabang natin attorney ah?"

"Oh baby, I can't believe this." Sambit niya saka niyakap ako. "Please just stay."

Ihahatid na niya kasi ako ng airport. It's my first official flight. Not as a flight attendant. I graduated in that field almost a decade ago. Today will be my official flight as a pilot. After our wedding, I went back to school. Dating back to the years I was in New Jersey, I was interested in flying and somehow learned to fly a chopper and a few light aircrafts that my father owned. From then, I knew what I wanted in life besides being Five's wife and a mother to our children.

"Are you sure you want me to stay?" I ask him with a playful smile. "I'm gonna have to make you stay up all night and you know..."

"Why are you always so naughty?" He whispers in his husky voice he uses most of the time to seduce me. "Baby, your proposal is very tempting." I gasp when I feel a feathery kiss on my neck while his arm slides gracefully around my hip. My heart stops beating for a few seconds as Five's lips draws close, leaving just an inch from mine. Yet, he never really claims my lips to kiss me and it's driving me insane. "Sorry love, I'm not easy-to-get." He teases. While that got me somehow a little pissed, he just laughs at me. Good thing, before I could speak a word, Five pushes me back to the bed as he passionately kisses me.

"Mo..."

The bedroom heats up which is confusing because the room temperature earlier is very cold. But that doesn't really need explanation when your husband is so hot and ugh.

"Damn. I'll be late." Sambit ko nang mabalik ako sa katinuan. That ends Five laughing on my neck and it's tickling me so I join in his laughter.

"Papa? Mama?"

"I'm coming in." She hisses and in the next few seconds, the door pings open.

"You look lovely, mija." I can't help but compliment seeing her in dress. She doesn't actually like dressing up that way. She'd always prefer a shirt and a comfortable pants. And she's now nine years old. Time flies really fast.

"I don't feel comfortable in this, ma." "Aren't we leaving yet?"

"Why are you such in a hurry, peanut?" She'll be home in two days. Don't forget that." He reminds.

"Yes. But that's exactly why she needs to go. Two days will pass and we won't even notice it. And then, she'll be home." She states positively, earning a proud smile from her father. He likes it when she reasons and he would then boast it to me that our daughter inherited such tact and intelligence from him. Typical Five Palmer, yes.

"I'm going to miss you two so so bad." Sambit ko sabay simangot.

"Sorry love, Khal and I can't say the same." Pang-aasar niya. Tinawanan iyon ni Khaleesi kaya napasimangot akong lalo. "We actually have plans."

"It better not involve getting Khaleesi a new mother." Sabay na tumawa ang mag-ama ko. I hate how their voices sound so uniform, I mean the sound of their laughter. They look the same too...like she's the exact girl version of her father. It's kind of cute but annoying at the same time too.

"No mama." Khal butts in still wearing her amused face. She hugs me warmly and pulls back quickly to look at me. "I'm on the lookout ma. Walang makakalapit na ibang babae kay papa. Let me take care of it." I can't help but laugh and giggle at that. Nagawa niya kasi akong kindatan. Haha.

"Who will I trade you to, love? I mean, you're my only one."

"Papa, let's work on your pick up lines while mama is away. Tsk, pa." Khal comments before I could. I was about to say that it's sweet. How could she say that? Look at her, she's grown up too fast. She's already nine and it was like just yesterday when I first had her in my arms.

"It's time to go, girls." Five heads up. It's always my favorite sight to see.

"I love you mama. I really would love to fly with you."

"Baby, it's okay." Nakangiting sagot ko kaagad. "I would love to be there too, honey."

"It's okay ma." Tugon niya. "I'll win it for you, I promise."

"Win or lose peanut, you're mom's champ. Always."

"I love you my love." He automatically says as he embraces me. "You're gonna do great. I trust you. Come home to me safe alright?"

"Always love."

I give him a quick kiss on the lips and again hug him tight before eventually turning my back on them. The original plan is to have them on board for my first official flight but then our schedules did not coincide. Khaleesi will have her skateboarding competition, representing her school. I know I should have been there but she and her dad insist for me not to leave my dreams behind and besides, I already promised her that I will be there for the finals. Yes, we are that confident that she'll win.

Having earned confidence and motivation, the flight goes well as I hoped. I can't contain my excitement despite knowing that it would still take about two nights to go for me to see my two gems again. But my heart is at peace. My heart is happy because I know at the end of the day, I know I am going home to them and I know that they will always be waiting. They are my home.
