4| Coven

Alice, Ann, and Jisoo were in the library, studying. Well, Jisoo and Ann were studying; Alice was daydreaming, her gaze glued to the window. It was still raining outside, and she couldn't detach her gaze from the heavy clouds dumping loads of water onto the streets.

It had been two days since the gazebo episode. She hadn't seen Jungkook since, but she kept thinking about that kiss.

That damn kiss.

She hadn't told anyone about it, and she wasn't sure how Ann and Jisoo would react if they knew. After all, they were Jungkook's friends long before she had entered the picture.

Suddenly a message flashed on her computer screen. Looking at her e-mails she suddenly smiled. It was a message from the cross-country coaches. She started to read the long e-mail as fast as possible until she reached the part that interested her the most;

We are happy to announce you that you were selected to be part of this year's Competitive Cross-Country Team. Congratulation!

Suddenly cheerful, Alice turned her computer around to show the message to her friends. Ann immediately congratulated her loudly, which earned her an annoyed look from the librarian.

"We should celebrate! This is such good news," whispered Jisoo.

"Yes!! Let's go to the University bar!!" added Ann, a little too enthusiastic for Alice's taste.

She didn't want to go there and Jisoo certainly didn't feel like going back there either. Her freshly repaired tooth was a vivid reminder of what had happened the last time she had been there.

"Hey! you know what," Jisoo said, "my parents aren't home tonight! You should all come to my house! I have white wine in the fridge, and a ton of food."

"Sounds perfect," declared Alice, before Ann could add anything.

"We should go right now though, it's already late and we have school tomorrow."

"Yeh... but it's Friday tomorrow, Fridays don't really count," conveyed Ann with a smirk.

Alice immediately texted Megan to tell her she would come home late. She received a text back almost immediately.

Megan: I'm with friends too tonight. I might even sleep at their place so don't worry if I'm not there when you come home. XXx

Megan was a social tornado and Alice was not surprised at all that she had already made so many friends in such a short amount of time. This was probably the one thing they didn't have in common

The three girls packed their books and walked as fast as possible to Jisoo's house. It was still pouring outside and when they finally arrived, they were completely soaked. Luckily, it wasn't too far from the University and they quickly climbed the stairs up to get inside, throwing their bags of books on the ground to remove their coats.

The last time Alice had been there, she didn't really have the time to look around, and she was quite curious about where her friend lived. Jisoo's house was a brick townhome, with walls shared with other buildings on both sides. It was an old house, with creaky wooden floors and plaster moldings. Alice thought that the place had a lot of personality.

"Oh god please, let my laptop be fine," mumbled Jisoo while emptying her bag to see if her electronics weren't drowning.

"Am I the only one who is properly starving?" asked Ann, removing her boots.

"Definitely not," conveyed Jisoo, letting out a relieved sigh when she saw that her laptop was fine, "Alice, do you like vegetable dumplings?"

"Yes, love them," the girl answered, walking further into the corridor and looking around.
