"I'm sorry I brought you here," Yoongi began "I know it's cold as shit on the riverbank... but I really needed to be away from people."

The boy hoped she understood. He felt like an ass bringing her out there in the cold and bet she thought they were going to a coffee shop or something. To his surprise, however, when Alice turned around, her face was illuminated with the brightest smile he had ever seen.

"I love it!" she exclaimed, turning her face to the bridge, "I just love it! How did you even find this place?"

Yoongi couldn't stop himself and grinned back at her. He didn't know why but he felt a lot better now, away from people and their stupid emotions, he could finally breathe. He could also feel how genuinely thrilled Alice was to be there, and the raw contentment she was emitting felt like a ray of sunshine.

And then his powers hit a wall. Again. And he couldn't feel her emotions anymore.

"How do you do that?" he asked, walking at her side, while she looked at the illuminated bridge in the distance.

The green and blue lights reflected in her eyes, creating fireworks in her pupils.

"Do what?" she asked back.

"You block my powers! I can't read your emotions! How is that possible?!"

Yoongi thought she might feel his desperation, in his tone or by reading his feelings, because she stopped and faced him fully with furrowed brows.

"I don't know...I just do it... why?"

"Teach me!" Yoongi conveyed, a tinge of hopelessness in his tone, "Please, teach me how to block people's feelings."

Alice stared back at him, uncertain and Yoongi realized he was gripping her arm. He let go immediately, hand falling limp at his side as he tried to control the raging feeling in his heart. Hope.

He took a deep breath, closing his eyes before opening them again.

"I can't control it," he began, "I can't control my powers properly. I feel every feeling of every person in a room the second I enter. Every minute of every day, I am attacked by people's emotions to the point I am not sure what are my own feelings anymore. I am tired of isolating myself all the time to be able to finally breathe."

Alice looked like she wanted to say something, but now that Yoongi had begun to say it, everything was stumbling out of his mouth before he could stop it.

"I can't do it anymore! I tried drugs, I tried alcohol and it didn't help at all, and then I met you, who didn't know anything about me, but could use my powers or block them at will. I know you grew up in a black magic coven. It means that they were informed about black magic and that they could teach you how to use your powers. I didn't have that..."

He stopped talking, taking a deep breath and blushing while she looked back at him with wide eyes.

"Please, can you teach me?" he asked, and he didn't even recognize his own voice.

Yoongi was used to keep everyone's feelings inside of him, maybe that's why he never displayed his own emotions. He always kept a blank face, never showing what was really going on inside, and now that he had let the dam break, everything was pouring out of him like a waterfall. He was angry and sad and desperate, and he knew that this time, unlike any other time, it showed on his face.

There is a reason why you keep it all inside, he told himself as he tried to swallow the lump in his throat. Now he felt weak and vulnerable in front of Alice, who was still staring at him with those blue eyes, and panic was rising in his bones and his throat was closing and for a second he thought he was going to suffocate.
