Chapter 15: Something Is Brewing 🐾

~Hazel's POV~

"Hazel, what the heck is wrong with you all of a sudden?" Dom said closing the door behind us.

"I don't know what you mean, Dominic," I lied as walked into the bathroom of our room.

"Oh Hazel you should know me better than that by now. I can tell by your tone that you're lying."

Busted.
But Anyway, I still began to clean my face until he made me look at him.

"What has gotten into you? Tell me the truth."

I stared into those brown orbs that were genuinely worried about me. His whole handsome face looked worried - genuinely concerned about me.

"Was it Leo?" I heard him ask and baby let me tell ya, that sprung life back into me.

I turned away and refocused back on looking at the mirror and cleaning my face, "What about him?"

I took a quick peek at him and noticed his eyes were narrowed in on me. S**t. I'm giving myself away. What if he figures out that I have been d-

"Does he scare you?" He asked.

I looked at him in response, he had no clue what gravity of that question. Does he scare me? In more ways than he knows.

I didn't know how to answer, so I didn't. I just turned away looking down at my hands until I felt Dom wrap his arms around me. Shocked the hell out of me! But to play along, I hugged him back.

"You don't have to be afraid of him babe. I know he comes off as a little intimidating but I assure you, once you get to know him, he's one of the most amazing people you'll ever meet-"

My eyes were stretched wide, luckily he couldn't see the horror of my eyes from him telling me to get to know him. I don't want to! At this moment I couldn't bring myself to do it. Not until I figure out what's going on with me and this weird vibe I'm getting from him.

"-Well, second amazing person, behind me of course," he and I both laughed as we now looked at one another.

My cheeks burned underneath his gaze. The way this man looks at me! It's f**king electrifying.

"Come to our secret place once you have finished cleaning up, yeah?" He said. I said okay and instantly got excite. Once he left, I finished washing my face, did a quick wash up, threw on one of my night dresses and brushed my teeth before heading to our secret place.

Once I arrived I saw him standing there, staring out into the scenery. What a beautiful scenery it was. I could tell that he really loved nature, it's like he has this unexplainable connection to it. It would make sense, since he is a Lienthian and they are very connected to the land they walk on - but with him it's a deeper connection.

"Don't try to sneak in on me, I heard you walk in, minou. Come, come stand next to me."

D**n, I forgot he was a f**king supernatural being....he can hear all s**t. So much for trying to surprise him.

I slowly walked over and sat next to him, sharing the view with him. He and I sat quietly got a moment and honestly, I loved moments like this. No outside world penetrating our bubble, just us, just peace. Although there was a huge elephant in the room that involved the Alpha, I still appreciate how delicate Dom is with me. Even in an argument he's the calm one and I'm on the defensive immediately and ready to close him out--Traits I picked up from my last marriage.

"What are you thinking, minou?"

I looked back at him, "Why do you call me that? What does that even mean?"
