Chapter 22: King of Zeebríans 🐾

~Third Person~

Meanwhile Over on the Zeebrían's Side

Narcissus Corwin.
Ruler of the Zeebrians during this time, made his way from the chamber where his family still were in their frozen slumber. He thought to himself, why was he the only one awake. Surely if he had awaken, that would mean the Beta broke from the curse before the Alpha. But surely his whole family should be awake too, not just him.

He was pissed.
He wanted answers and he knew just where to get them.

He walked through the mansion where it used to be filled with water. The great flood that woke him up before his time.

He stalked his way through the halls in search of the grand hall. Fire came out of his nose, he was so furious and if he didn't hear the things he wanted to hear, then it was going to be a sad day in Anipadra.

He pushed the stone doors open as if they were made out of paper--everyone inside the grand hall froze at the figure standing in the doorway. Once the whole room realized whom it was standing at the front door, they all bowed to him including Roan that unleashed a devilish smile before bowing.

Narcissus stood over the people unbothered by the respect being shown to him, he had bigger fish to fry. He wanted answers and he wanted them now.

"LEAVE US!" His voice roared throughout the room, sending chills to everyone. Everyone scurried out of the room except for Roan and Evelyn.

Roan smiled at Narcissus meanwhile Evelyn stood behind Roan, with her fingers locked in front of her and a small smirk plastered on her face.

"It's so great to see you awake, my King," Roan said.

Holding back his crocodile form, Narcissus checks his anger and rubs his bald head before calmly replying, "It appears that I have been woken up ahead of schedule. Do you know why that is?" He asked as he began to circle around the room.

"No, I'm actually really surprised. We weren't expecting you for at least another couple of months or so," Roan replied.

"Oh really? I'm sure she knows why," Narcissus growled as he glared over at Evelyn. Roan looked back at Evelyn too, she had a nervous look on her face. Roan didn't understand, he narrowed his eyes at her.

"What is he implying, Eve?" Roan asked her.

Her lip trembled, "R-Red, I-"

"She was the reason I woke up much earlier than I was supposed to," Narcissus chimed in still circling the room.

"Eve what did you do?!" Roan shouted.

"Something had to be done!" She replied.

"DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE DONE TO ME?!" Narcissus screamed as he quickly made his way to Evelyn, lifting her in the air by her throat.

Roan wanted to interfere and save her but he quickly remembered whom it was choking her and he could not interfere. Evelyn choked for a few moments before she felt herself losing consciousness. She mustered up enough strength use her magic to conjure up a spell lessened Narcissus' grip on her throat.

She was close to getting her release until Narcissus gathered his strength and threw her across the room. She landed on the floor face first, her head began to spin but was thankful she could breathe again.

"My king please, please don't hurt her!" Roan pleaded to Narcissus as he walked over to Evelyn.

"You're lucky if I don't kill her for what she did. Tampering with s**t she shouldn't have!" He replied.

"Wait! I did it for you, King Narcissus!" She cried on the floor with her hands up.

"You made me weak, that's what you did for me Miss Evelyn_" he picked her up again and lifted her in the air, "_and now, you must die. Eye for an eye!"

But before he could finish her. She lifted her hand and flashed a magical cube in her hand making Narcissus look into it. He stared intensely into the magical cube in her hand before ultimately dropping her to the ground. Roan rushed to her, wrapping his arms around her as she caught her breath again.

"Speak," Narcissus commanded as he waited for the explanation in the what he saw in the cube.

"Th-This, She is why.....I di-I did....what I did," she whispered in between breaths.

"Who is she?" Narcissus asked.

Roan helped Evelyn to her feet. She stood in front of Narcissus with still some apprehension. She held onto Roan tightly, "She is the reason why we'll win this war once and for all."

Narcissus was all ears and so was Roan.

Narcissus smiled his devilish smile again, he growled, "I'm listening."
