~Hazel's POV~

The next morning Dominic left for training. He wanted to stay with me all day again but I told him that his pride still needed him and there was a war we had to prepare for. I didn't want him to get distracted by me being back. Besides, it gave me some time to think and reflect. It gave me some time to think about Dominic and I.

"Knock knock," a small voice said from behind me. I smiled and turned to Eila that peaked her head through before entering and closing the door behind her. Her golden locs were pulled up into a bun, showing off her tattoos.

"Good morning," I said.

"Hey, good morning. I didn't expect for you to be up this early. I came in to check in on you before your visitors start to come in."

"I had to basically push Dom out of here for training early this morning otherwise, he would stay here all day if he could. Besides, I have a lot on my mind."

She sat next to me, "Well, what's on your mind? Do you want to speak about it?"

"I should be asking you that exact same question," I say turning to her. She furrowed her brows, "Every since we got back here, you've been acting strange. And don't think I didn't notice what happened while we were over at the Zeebrians' side."

She shook her head and fixed her mouth to deny what I said, but I knew better than that.

"I'll talk to you if you talk to me first, Eila. What's going on?"

She closed her mouth slowly and sighed deeply. She looked out at the view, "The Azeditarian that has been helping out the Zeebrians, her name is Evelyn."

"Yes, I know that-"

"You don't understand, Hazel. Evelyn is my little sister."

My mouth dropped to the f**king floor. How could an evil devilish witch such as Evelyn be the sister of Eila?! In what cruel world is this possible?

"But...But I thought that you were the last if your bloodline? I thought the rest of your family was dead?!"

"That's what I thought too until I saw her the other night. And when I saw her, I froze. All of these years and I never knew that my sister was alive. I didn't know whether to be happy or angry."

"Well....what happened? How did your family die in the first place?"

She sighed again, "Well, do you remember when I told you that my parents had to sacrifice themselves and their children in order to save the Azeditarians?"

I nodded.

"While they sacrificed their lives for their people, my sister and I had to serve either the Zeebrians or the Lienthians. We chose the Lienthians but Goddess Amora found out Evelyn had been learning about the Clear Magic. An evil that is to be forever forbidden. A power not restricted by Goddess Amora's limits. Word has it that it was the real reason the Great War happened between the Lienthians and Zeebrians."

"How did she even find out about the Clear Magic?"

"My sister often hung out with the wrong crowd. She would get herself in countless amount of trouble, I suppose the crowd she hung around introduced her to it from one of the books that were stolen from the forbidden catalogs."

"That still doesn't explain how she died," I said trying my best to keep up with this complex story.

"Because Goddess Amora found out about Evelyn's dwellings in the Clear Magic, Evelyn no longer had a choice. Goddess Amora ordered her to serve the Zeebrians. Evelyn didn't want to and she had plans on escaping but before she made that plan a reality, she killed herself. One of the worst days in my life."
