Dominic waited and waited beside Hazel as she rested. His mind flashed back to what just happened a few moments ago at the border: Once Leander pulled her through the border, they both rushed to Clover to be medically examined. It was a frantic scene. Dominic and Leander watched outside of the room as Clover's team worked on Hazel.

After Clover did all of what she could do for Hazel, she told them that Hazel would have to be brought to Eila so they could work further on Hazel together. Dominic and Leander kept asking Clover what was wrong with Hazel but Clover kept quiet. She didn't want to say anything without Eila first.

So there they were, waiting outside of a bubble Eila created in her home for Hazel. Eila and Clover worked together for hours--conversing amongst themselves. But then finally, Eila came to speak with both Lienthian men.

"How is she? Is she going to be okay?" Dominic asked.

"Clover and I both have stabilized her for now but she must remain Quarantined in the bubble, away from the rest of the pride. Just until we figure out exactly what's going on and how to proceed forward with her," Eila answered.

"Eila, I can't thank you enough for doing what you did - bringing her back here safely. My heart has been made whole again," Dominic said. Before she thought to respond, Dominic pulled her into a hug. She felt the grateful energy he radiated. Leo watched, smiling from within. He was ecstatic Hazel was back in his presence as well but his face showed that he couldn't careless about the mushy hugging s**t.

"If you both really want to thank me, Leo you'd go let Clover deal with your burnt hand and Dominic you will go finally eat something," Eila proposed.

Dominic and Leander both looked at her as if she were crazy but she didn't budge, "I'm not joking. She'll be here and just fine. Now go take care of yourselves!"

With much resistance, they slowly made their way out the area to do what Eila said. Though they didn't want to leave, they both could now be at ease knowing that Hazel was back in their side of the world now.  As they made their way out, "Aye bro, I just want to say, thanks for pulling her through. I know you paid a big price for it, but I owe you one," Dominic said to Leander.

Leander nonchalantly shrugged, "Hazel is someone special," he slipped up and said aloud.

Dominic smiled as he looked over to the big bubble, "Yes she is. Wait, what did you just say?" Dominic turned to look at Leander.

Realizing what he said, Leander quickly recovered his cover, "Well-uh, don't, what I mean was...she's special because she's your mate."

"You can admit she grew on you like a little sister. You can admit it bro," Dominic teased.

Leander tried to play it off and deny it but Dominic refused to believe any different.

Instead Leander said, "Besides, you'd do the same for me for a special person in my life."

"No doubt, bro. I absolutely would," Dominic said as they hugged. "Go get that hand looked at. I'll see you later."

Leo looked down at his burned hand, "Oh this? Come one man, you know I'm cool. I don't need Clo to-"

"Shut up man and go get that taken care of," Dominic chuckled.

Leander chuckled as he shook his head, "Yes Mother."

They both laughed as they parted ways. They both haven't laughed in weeks--it felt good to finally laugh again.
