~Leander's POV~

After Nic and Evan left, I found myself just looking at her. Her beautiful face....f**k, her beautiful face. I remember the first time I saw her, I was a goner. In my cage, I saw the fight she had in her mixed with the fear. Through the mud on her face, torn clothes and hair all over the place, her beauty pierced through. She was amazing, a warrior, unaware of how strong she was.

But I saw it.
I saw her.
And I fell in love.

"You know she may never love you the way you love her," Eila said to me. I forgot her a** was still on the f**king room.

I raised an eyebrow, "I'm aware."

"And you know she may not choose you, should you awake and cure her."

I grabbed Hazel's soft hands, lightly running my fingers across her scales. I'm completely aware of the different possibilities that could happen. I'm not a f**king idiot. What I am is in love. And being in love, I'm to be selfless for the sake of the one I love.

But f**k that s**t.
I'm selfish as f**k.
And I couldn't give a d**n of what is expected of me.
And I furthermore couldn't give a d**n of what people thought about it.

So being aware was one thing - but did I accept it?

"I'm very aware, E."

"You know I wouldn't be me if I didn't remind you of such things," she replied.

"Like I should remind you of your feelings you have for Evan."

She looked at me as if her heart had broken, "I don't know what you're talking about." She turned away from me.

"Oh don't do that s**t, E. Anyone with eyes can see how you two are with each other."

She faced me again, "Yes I love him. I've always loved him and will forever love him. But he is with another, he's destined for June.....not me."

"F**k destiny and all that comes with the s**t."

She smiled at me, "That's your hurt speaking."

"F**k that. I'm speaking truth."

"You say that because destiny didn't tilt in your favor."

"Destiny didn't tilt in your favor either."

"Yes, yes I'm aware."

"Have you accepted it?"

There was a brief silence between us. But there was no need for her to verbally answer, I already knew.

"I'll accept mine when you have accepted yours," I challenged.

She nodded in agreement and smiled, "Fair enough."

I turned to Hazel again, "So how am I supposed to cure her anyway?"

"As I said earlier, your lineage combats Narcissus'. But in order for the cure to be as powerful to work is the same way she turned - a bite on the neck."

Easy enough.
"Oh s**t. That's it?"

"Well, the initial bite is to wake her up but once she's awake_" she paused.

I rolled my eyes, "Spit it out, E."

"_she must drink your blood."

"F**k! Are you serious E?!"

"As serious as a heart attack."

"Do you know what that'll do to me?"

"Yes, I know. I know. Why do you think Narcissus is so attached now. One drink from her and his feelings for her heightened."
