I spent the time asking for explanation about everything, and heard that Aliyah should've been arrested the same day she planned to spread the video but Horace came in to face her the moment after he heard that I went there to meet Aliyah. I got guilty because I didn't inform him about that, mukhang nakagulo lang ako sa mga planado na niyang gagawin. Basically, Horace is holding a team for help to dig around. He has many connections, by the way. At mahirap pa iyon dahil ayaw niya akong isangkot sa lahat ng hinuhukay nila, pero ang rason ng lahat ay ako. He made it possible in all ways he could just to ward me off the cases he's planning to fire.
My heart hurt.
"Paano sila nakasuhan? Nagbayad ka ba talaga para sa pekeng kaso?"
He snickered smugly. "No, baby. Of course, we scooped out to know something about them and found that his mother was guilty for smuggling. Galit ako, Lovi, kung hindi ko mapapakulong si Hennessy-kailangan may magdusa na magpapabigat sa kalooban niya. Hennessy was found innocent in all his records, it frustated me and I don't know who to call out but his weakness. I was wrong there, but I can't help it. He knows something about what happened but he's keeping his mouth shut. I got frustrated finding the real defiler that night. I'm sorry... I failed it. I didn't expect that it was Davin. Hennessy fucking hid it perfectly."
Nakita ko ang nag-aalab na galit sa mga mata niya, ramdam ko ang paghigpit ng hawak niya sa aking balakang ngunit pinigilan din iyon at nilapag na lamang ang mga kamay sa aking hita. Huminga siya ng malalim.
"I don't know if I could still pull her out now since she's already proven guilty, Lovi. The case is on going now, kung wala siyang pangpiyansa. Wala na akong magagawa, makukulong ang Mama nila. And that Davin will be with her inside the jail, I already told Xythen about the case. I'm just waiting for his reply how to run the case."
I gasped out, masakit man ang puso sa lahat ng gulong ito ay nasa tamang pag-iisip pa naman.
"But he was innocent, Horace. He didn't even know what happened to us, he couldn't remember until he saw the scandal," I said with frustration. "Naisip ko lang na nasa pareho kaming sitwasyon dahil wala rin siyang alam at may nilagay sa inumin doon kaya ganoon ang resulta. Kung mayroon man akong gustong managot ngayon, sana iyong mga tao sa likuran ng lahat. Those people who put drugs on drinks and put Davin inside the room you locked."
Nasa pareho kaming sitwasyon pero dahil babae ako ay maraming nawala sa akin, and I had already accepted that fact that I got so lost that time. I had a share fault but I won't blame myself for being a victim, I just don't know what to hold on something like this. Davin was a victim, too. He was drugged and I do not know if how's this case would go, baka gugulo lalo ang mundo ko.
He nodded and sighed. "Yes, baby. We're working on it, we will find them."
Nagbuntong-hininga ako at humawak sa dibdib niya, pakiramdam ko ay nakakapagod ang mag-isip tungkol doon. Sobrang niluma na iyon ng panahon at ayaw kong buksan pa, wala akong alam sa palakad ng batas dito dahil wala naman ng fair sa mundo. I accepted what happened and I'm ready to walk out of it now, I just hope that it will be also a lesson for Davin and everyone who's involved. Gusto ko nang pakawalan ang lahat, ang nakaraang iyon at ang sarili ko mula roon. Gusto ko nang manahimik, ngayong wala na si Aliyah ay wala na akong ibang problema pa.
"I just want a peaceful life now..." I whispered tiredly.
He caressed my thigh gently. "I know, baby. I'm sorry for making it more complicated but I want everyone behind it to suffer and I'll do anything without involving you."
"Wala kang kasalanan, Race. Stop apologizing," marahan kong sinabi habang nakatitig sa kanyang mukha.
He looks taking everything happened all on him, he's blaming himself when the truth was he's out of there. His eyes were so tender that made me feel more sad and bothered, hinaplos ko ang panga niya at marahang nilapit ang mukha ko sa kanya upang abutin ang labi niya. He accepted my kisses with the same passion, as usual.
