Chapter 11

Riley POV's

I am busy reading reports and analyzing them when I hear a knock. Making a deep sigh when I felt something strange was about to happen.

"Come in." after saying those words, I hear the door opening, and loud footsteps echo in my silent room.

I take a deep breath after identifying who entered my precious office, stepping on my clean floor, making a stinky odor in my fresh air room, and making noise in my beloved silent moment.

"Dorothy and Ms. Erika, what brought you here?" tanong ko sa kanila in my poker face.

Hirap talaga maging gwapo. I should donate some to Nick. I guess.

"I'm here because of the file you requested. I want to personally give it to you." sabi naman ni Erika sabay abot sa akin ng files na tinanggap ko naman at sinimulan ng basahin, ngunit hindi ko na pinatuloy pa ng mabasa ko ang bawat salitang naroon.

"Riley I'm here because I want to invite you for lunch." rinig kong sabi ni Dorothy.

"I have a meeting." simpleng sagot ko naman dito.

"After your meeting then," I could see in my peripheral vision how Erika smirked after I said those words.

"I still have another meeting." I continue.

"I can wait." Dorothy's voice shows a hint of determination, but I don't care.

"No, you can't because I have a meeting after that meeting and another meeting after that meeting and still have a meeting after that meeting." I tried my best to make her think I was serious about what I said.

"Do you really have a meeting or you just making excuses?" sabi nito habang nakapatong ang dalawang kamay sa table ko.

My precious table.

"You can ask my secretary if you don't believe it." paghahamon ko rito.

"Your secretary is on her rest day." biglang sabi naman ni Erika na busy sa pagbabasa ng magazine.

Kailan pa naging tambayan ang office ko?

"So, bukas mo nalang siya tanungin." wala sa sariling sabi ko kay Dorothy.

"Are you kidding me?" di makapaniwalang tanong nito.

"I'm not, so can you both go and leave now, hindi ginawa ang office ko para tambayan. Also, I'm a busy person." bored na sabi ko sabay turo ng pintuan.

Padabog namang naglakad si Dorothy while Erika is still in her position, acts like she's reading the magazine, at ng tuloyan ng makalabas si Dorothy ay tumayo naman upang e-lock ang pinto pagkatapos ay naglakad palapit sa akin.

"I have to tell you something," panimula nito sa seryosong tono dahilan para makuha nito ang atensyon ko.

"About what?" kahit alam ko kung ano ang ibig sabihin nito ay nagtanong pa rin ako.

"The things you want me to know,"

At ang sunod na sinabi nya ay mas lalo pang kumuha ng atensyon ko.

Tahimik akong naka upo sa aking office habang nakatanaw sa syodad at iniisip ang mga nalaman ko. I still can't believe it, to the point that it is really impossible to happen.
