*Kane's POV*

It was freezing out as a snow and sleet mix came down between the buildings, right down on Time Square. I was bundled up in a large puffy coat, gloves, and a hat. Sawyer looked colder than I did as she stood by Emmeryse who was used to the cold. She was bundled up in my big fleece coat so she could wear a hoodie and a sweater underneath. She pulled her scarf up, covering her red nose and cheeks. I attempted to hug her to warm her up, but the puff in my coat proved to be too much as the best I could do was stick my arms out and walk straight into her. I couldn't bend my arms, and Emmeryse laughed at us.

The masses of people that were here to see the ball drop was insane. I was called to line up for my performance. I attempted to pump myself up, knowing just how cold it was gonna be when I had to pull off my coat to perform. I threw off my giant coat as they announced me, the sleet and cold instantly piercing through my thinner jacket that I could move in. My fingers stung against the microphone and wind.

All I could do to keep myself going on with the show was to continue to move around the stage, but that was difficult as the stage was wet and I was sloshing around in sleet. I had to zone in on every word to keep my teeth from chattering. Once we finished my set of two songs, I raced down the stairs of the stage. Sawyer held out my puffy coat for me to throw on. I unzipped my soaked jacket, peeling the cold thing off and throwing on the puffy, dry coat. The cold air stung my skin as I switched. Definitely a bad choice to wear a t-shirt under a thin jacket for tonight.

*Sawyer's POV*

Kane's security team was on us instantly, escorting us to the waiting car. As the three of us ducked inside, we were greeted by the heat. Pulling down my scarf, I looked at Kane who was shivering. His hands were freezing and his jeans and shoes were soaked. I rubbed his arms, hoping to help warm him as his teeth chattered.

We reached our building and rode the elevator up. Kane's team was having their New Years get together at the apartment. Kane gave them all a brief greeting as he headed to the guest room, me in tow. Closing the door to our room, Kane ran to the bathroom, turning on the hot shower and peeling off his soaked clothes. I grabbed him some clothes from his suitcase, laying them out on the bed as he showered and warmed up.

Once ready, we joined the rest of Kane's team and Emmeryse's family in the main section of the apartment. They all had champagne glasses and were laughing about something. Kane's publicist insisted that we join them in having champagne for toasting to the new year. Emmeryse shot us a worried look from across the room. Kane intercepted his publicist before she could get to the kitchen to pour us some, saying that he would get it so she didn't have to leave her conversation.

He brought over two glasses, both similar in color but one lighter and more carbonated than the other. He handed me the lighter of the two and kissed my forehead, taking a drink from his glass. We watched as the count down began on the television screen.

30... 29...28..

"Toast to a great past year full of successful tour dates, interviews, and appearances!" Kane's manager said and everyone took a sip.

21... 20... 19...

"To a Sawyer's successful career launch!" Emmeryse piped in and everyone toasted again.

13... 12... 11...

"To the new year and all the future successes it holds for all of us." Kane's publicist toasted and everyone agreed as they drank.

4... 3... 2...

Kane smirked smugly and wrapped his arm around my waist. "An' to the newest addition to our family due this July."

*Kane's POV*

They all raised their glasses, tipping them back and drinking, except my publicist. She paused as her glass touched her lips as my words sunk in. It took a moment before my words hit everyone else and they turned to look at Sawyer and I in surprise. I removed my hand from Sawyer's waist, pulling out the ultrasound picture from my back pocket and holding it up for them to see. Surprised gasps and chatting filled the room as they processed the news.

"How far along are you?" my publicist squealed. "Oh the press will love this!"

"For once can we just let them be normal and congratulate them?" Emmeryse said

"Right." My publicist said. "Congrats!"

"You shouldn't be drinking during a pregnancy!" Someone yelled

I held up a finger and went over behind the counter in the kitchen. I lifted up an open pop can. There was a sigh of relief that echoed through the room. From there it exploded into congratulations and repeatedly explaining that we were due in July and that we didn't know the gender just yet. I shared the story of telling Sawyer's father, causing everyone to laugh at how my father-in-law almost took me out.

For once, my whole team was excited and on board for the same thing. No angles and no money being made by this news right now. For once, Sawyer and I had a little moment of normalcy in our lives.

I smiled as I watched Sawyer chat with my publicist and her manager about baby news and ideas for a nursery and baby shower. Her cheeks were bright and her eyes lit up as she spoke. Her laughter filled my ears and a smile tugged at my mouth.

That's my Sawyer.
