Kasey Emery Rae Brown

*Sawyer's POV*

Kane had been watching Kasey so I could curl my hair. We were getting ready to let a media crew into our home to give the world their first sight at Kasey other than the pictures Kane and I had given to our publicists to share. We had taken our time in deciding what media group would come in, and Kane had taken extra security measures. I laughed at how protective of Kasey he was. I couldn't even imagine what would happen when she grew up to be a teenage. Oh the boys he'll chase off. I laughed as I finished my last curl, spraying it with hairspray. 

Coming downstairs, I was greeted by a team setting up lights in our sunroom. Kane was on the ground in the living room with Kasey as her chubby little arms flailed at the little toys hanging down from the play center she was laying under. Seeing me all dressed up for the first time in weeks, he stood and met me at the bottom of the stairs. He wrapped his arms around my waist, kissing me, picking me up off of the stairs and swinging me to place me on more solid ground.

"You look absolutely beautiful." Kane smiled, arms still around me.

I rolled my eyes, "Of course because I'm not covered in throw up or anything else she gets on me." I laughed

"I still love you, even with messy hair and clothes." Kane laughed

"So charmin'" I laughed as he kissed me again and Kasey let out a high pitch squeal.

"Alright! Alright! I'm comin! Dad's comin'!" Kane said.

Kane pulled back and attempted to mimic her squeal as he went over to her, scooping her up. We were called into the sun room so we could film. Kane sat down beside me, letting me hold Kasey so he could wrap his arm around my waist and rub my thigh. It was relaxing and the hostess nodded to her camera man as they began recording.

"Good morning! To our viewers who remember last year when we interviewed newlyweds Kane and Sawyer Brown, well we traveled from Nashville down here to their Georgia home for the first public introduction to their new baby girl! How are you two? A lot's happened since we last interviewed you two." She said

"Yeah, we had a baby." Kane said making both of us laugh.

"Obviously." The hostess laughed. "Think we can chalk that up to being low on sleep."

"Probably, but she sleeps like her dad." I laughed

"Does she?" The hostess asked and I nodded.

"I do like my sleep." Kane smiled, "An' she doesn't let us get much."

"So it's August right now and she was born early July, right? So how long were you in labor?" the hostess asked

"Eight or nine hours, but it felt longer." I said

"She's a trooper. She did all the work. I can't take any credit for that." Kane squeezed my thigh a little.

"I don't have any kids of my own and I don't wanna imagine that right now, but we heard that Kane was right there the whole time." the hostess said.

"He was an' he really got me through pushing when I was really tired and when I started panicking." I said and the hostess looked surprised.

"They were all yellin' in the room an' it just got to be too much for her so I kinda stepped in an' had to tell them to quiet down. I had her focus on me an' I was just like 'two more minutes. Just two more minutes, baby'." Kane explained

"And then two minutes turned out to be close to another then on-top of having pushed for half an hour already." I finished.

"Wow!" the hostess said wide eyed. "So I know all of your fans are dying to know her name, and you had a baby girl." the hostess said.

"Perfect baby girl." Kane threw in and we laughed.

"Her name is Kasey Emery Rae Brown. We chose Kasey because of the boots, Luke Caseys. Emery is for the place we had our first few dates together. It's the place we opened up to one another. An' Kane chose Rae because my mother's name was RaeLynn." I explained

"Oh how sweet of you. Naming your little girl after her grandmother." the hostess smiled

Kasey began to fuss, making the hostess a little nervous and shy away. Kane reached his arm back, grabbing the pacifier off of side table. He gently offered it to Kasey and she took it, eyes closing as her fussing stopped. Kane rested his head against my shoulder, watching her closely, gently caressing her chubby little cheeks. 

"Awww!" the hostess exclaimed as she watched us.

I smiled, "He is absolutely in love with her. He could just watch her and spend time with her all day. An' they are so cute together. I'll usually find them playing or taking naps together."

"Guess we know she's got her dad wrapped around her finger." the hostess laughed

"Definitely." I smiled as Kane sat back

"She's my little girl." Kane smiled.

"So does she like her dad's music or have you not played any for her?" the hostess asked

"Oh this gets him fired up." I rolled my eyes and smiled as Kane perked up.

He smiled, "She likes music. An' she likes when I sing. Just not my songs. She really likes a lot of Jason's music, Jason Aldean, an' she likes when I sing her some of my favorites too." He said

"Oh! That's gotta hurt a little. Kasey, you don't like your dad's music?" the hostess said

"She's like, 'naw, let me sleep'." Kane responded, causing all of us to laugh

"Like I said, she's just like her dad." I smiled, looking at him.

"So as our last question, a lot of fans are probably wondering if your wife and daughter will be joining you on tour. But we've also heard a lot of people wondering if Sawyer will be going back to modeling." The hostess said.

"I am still planning on modeling. I actually modeled all the way up to my third trimester. But I'm not committin' anything yet since we're still workin' on this new routine and we both wanna spend a lot of time with Kasey." I explained

"Which is why they'll be comin' with me when I go play at some shows that I'm helpin' some friends with. Like we've got some stuff set up with Chris Young, Luke Combs, an' Jason's got some things in the work for his up comin' tour but I don't wanna give anythin' away." Kane said

"Sounds like you two have a lot to balance along with being new parents." the hostess said.

"We're tryin'. Just askin' that everyone be patient." Kane said.
