Baby Shower & ACM's

*Sawyer's POV*

I finished up my makeup as Emmeryse came into Kane's and my hotel room, leading me out of the room and to the elevator. We were in Vegas for the ACM Awards later this afternoon, but Emmeryse had taken it upon herself to rent out one of the banquet halls in our hotel and decorate it for a baby shower for Kane and me. She had taken care of inviting everyone that would be attending the ceremony later.

I followed her to the banquet hall, and the first thing we see is Kane holding a ladder steady while Jason Aldean was on it, attempting to attach white balloons to the top of the door frame that had a curtain of white, gold, and pink, garland circles. Inside the room, there were tables decorated with light pink table cloths and gold and white colored place settings. There was a table full of snacks and two large containers of pink lemonade.

Guests had began to pour in, setting their presents down on the table and mingling. A lot of the men had come with their wives to congratulate Kane officially. I had done my best to make it around the whole room to talk with everyone, but my feet were aching. Kane snuck up behind me, wrapping his arms around me and resting his hands on my more noticeable stomach. He pressed a kiss into my neck just under my ear.

"How're you feelin'?" Kane asked, and I turned around, hugging him as close as I could.

"A little tired an' my feet ache, but I'm doing alright. How are you?" I asked.

He rubbed my lower back, "I'm doin' great. Feelin' up to openin' some presents?"

I kept my eyes closed as I leaned my head against Kane's chest as I contemplated my answer. With a short nod, Kane took my hand, leading me over to the couch that was pushed front-and-center for us to sit on to open presents. We received a lot of great gifts, but the best one was when all of the men started exiting the room around the same time. Laughing could be heard out in the hall.

As we finished setting aside the last gift, the men came back in and stood in a line by the door, facing the front. Lauren Alaina came up front, and the men could be heard giggling. Amber, Granger's wife, tapped on my shoulder and had me jump over from the couch to her table, right in the front.

"So you're about to be a dad -" Lauren started

"Only three more months." Kane cut in, receiving claps

"Well the guys thought your wife might wanna see you show off your dad skills." She continued

"Dad skills huh?" Kane looked back at the guys "I already know this is gonna be bad."

Lauren laughed and attempted to get back her composure, "So when it's late at night, and Sawyer is exhausted from spending the day taking care of your little girl, we wanna see how you'll handle calming down your baby."

"Is that so?" Kane said as the guys started snickering in back.

Lauren nodded and moved far out of the way. Kane looked at me, a smile on his face. I turned my chair to look back at the door, waiting to see what the guys had done.

Entering the room, doing the stiffest cowboy walk possible, Luke Combs wore cowboy boots, a giant pink bonnet, a white t-shirt, a giant costume baby diaper and bib, and had an oversized pink pacifier in his mouth. My mouth dropped as the guys all busted out laughing. Kane buried his face in his hands and laughed. Luke pulled the giant binky out of his mouth and looked Kane.

Flinging his arms back he yelled 'DAD', and ran up to the front where Kane was on the couch. The entire room burst out in laughter as he awkwardly laid out on the couch and looked up at Kane.

*Kane's POV*

I knew it was going to be bad, but I hadn't expected anything like this. The guys were laughing extremely hard, and Sawyer was laughing and looking amused.

"Oh! Babe. Look. Our little girl is so beautiful." I said while trying to hold back my laughing.

"DON'T WAKE MAMA!!!" Luke screamed at me and I laughed

"Right. Uh. I'm alright as long as I don't gotta change your diaper." I said as everyone started laughing again.

"Here. We'll just put this back in an' you can go to sleep." I stuck the pacifier in his mouth

"I don't think that's working!" yelled Jason from the back.

"Maybe you should use baby's favorite teddy bear to calm down." Granger's wife smirked

I looked around and shook my head. There was no stuffed animal teddy bear near us. Suddenly, I looked up to see a giant teddy bear walking walking in the door. My best guess was that it was Granger since he was the only other person missing from the back. I shook my head and laughed as he sat on the couch next to me before flopping like a rag doll over onto my shoulder. 

"An' if that don't work, you can always try singing your baby to sleep!" Lauren laughed

After putting me through all of that, they played a few more games before we all had to get ready for the Awards. Emmeryse stayed behind to pack up the presents for us and get them on their way to our house in Georgia.

Sawyer laid back, tired from the party. Having a few hours left to get ready, I sat on the bed and pulled off her shoes, rubbing her ankles and feet. She had mentioned the other day that they had been hurting. She smiled at me and closed her eyes. As she napped, I got ready. I woke her up once I was done and helped her get ready.

We pulled up to the venue, and I happily helped her out of the car. Reporters were eager to talk to us the moment we stepped out. We got our pictures taken before speaking with a few reporters that had been writing positive articles about Sawyer's pregnancy. All of them excited to hear that she was twenty-four weeks along and that we were expecting a baby girl.

Just as we were about to enter the building, someone was yelling my and Sawyer's names. Sawyer had heard it first. When I turned around, Sawyer was happily hugging Katelyn Jae. She smiled as she pulled out a pastel colored gift bag from behind her, holding it so Sawyer could open it.

"Oh it's adorable!" Sawyer smiled, admiring the pink and white baby blanket with a stuffed animal deer.

"I'm so sorry I couldn't make it to the baby shower. We had a dress malfunction while traveling and -" Katelyn started explaining.

Sawyer laughed and pulled her in for a hug, "It's alright. An' this is perfect. She's gonna love it!"

Katelyn carefully touched Sawyer's stomach and smiled, "I hope so. Well congratulations again and I'll see you two inside."

She headed off to talk to the reporters we had just spoken with. Sawyer smiled, taking my hand as I lead her inside. She carefully tucked the present beside our seats as the awards were about to begin.

I have been waiting to throw in that last cameo. Also, they're having a baby girl!
