*Sawyer's POV*

I stood with my elbows resting on the countertop in the bathroom as I rocked side-to-side with my head in my hands. I breathed easier as the wave passed and hit a button on my phone, stopping the clock to record the end of another contraction. Checking the time on my phone, 11:47 p.m., I knew I wasn't going to get anymore sleep other than the hour I had gotten before my contractions started.

There was a soft tapping on the door, and a yawning Kane greeted me as he opened it. He took one look at the position I was in and realization crossed his face. He ran back into our bedroom, grabbing his phone and calling our doctor. He passed the phone off to me as I relayed the information. I handed the phone off to Kane as I could feel another contraction coming.

After a brief conversation with the doctor, he was in our room, grabbing our hospital bag and throwing on clothes. He helped me get dressed, which was painstakingly slow, and helped me into his truck. We called the hospital and let them know we were on the way. Kane helped me down out of the truck and into the wheelchair one of the nurses had waiting for us. They immediately took me up, the air conditioning feeling wonderful compared to the hot July night air. Kane went to park the truck and bring our bags up.

After a whirlwind of questions, checking vitals, getting admitted, and changing into the ever-so-stylish hospital gown, we were left to ourselves in one of the labor and delivery rooms of the maternity wing where we wouldn't be disturbed by paparazzi or anyone who didn't have clearance. They allowed me to walk around the room to help with the pain and move things along.

I stood at the foot of the hospital bed, gripping the edge, as a more painful contraction hit. Kane came up behind me, holding my hips and pressing his thumbs into my lower back, pulling them apart and helping to ease my pain slightly. He did this repeatedly and walked circles around the room with me.

"What time is it?" I groaned after another strong contraction passed.

"Just about 4:41." Kane said, pressing a kiss to my forehead. "Do you wanna try sleepin' like they said?"

Nodding, Kane lead me over to the hospital bed. He helped me lay back, positioning the pillows where I needed them for support. I thought the contractions would keep me up, but I was so tired that I drifted off in no time.

*Kane's POV*

I woke up to Sawyer repeatedly saying my name, snapping at me to wake up. I sat up from the stiff couch I had laid down on. I swung my legs over the edge, rubbing my face in an attempt to wake up. There were several nurse's in the room as one explained that they were about to transition into delivery.

My heart sped up as I rushed to Sawyer's side. Her teeth were chattering and she was shivering, but the nurse assured both of us that it was normal for some people to feel shakiness during labor. It was a whirlwind as our doctor came in and the nurse's sat Sawyer up and dropped down the bottom part of the bed. The doctor pulled up the stirrups and the nurse instructed me how to put Sawyer's leg up and how to hold her leg to support her.

I was no longer tired. I was wide awake and ready to help Sawyer however I could. Her hair was tied up in a messy bun and sleep was still heavy in her eyes, telling me she hadn't slept as well as I had. She opted to hold onto the grab handles rather than my hand, but I encouraged her through every contraction and push.

As we neared the thirty minute mark, Sawyer was frustrated and exhausted. Tears welled up in her eyes as our doctor and nurse continued to yell for her to push. Her heart monitor began increasing and another nurse began telling her that she needed to calm down. Tears slipped out and her bottom lip trembled as she begged them to stop yelling.

Shaking my head, I left my position of holding her leg in the stirrup and leaned in, pressing a kiss to her lips, drawing her attention to me. I cupped her face and wiped away her tears with my thumbs. She began to calm down and her heart rate evened out as her gorgeous green eyes looked to me for comfort and strength.

"We can do this with less yelling." I said and looked at the doctor before turning back to Sawyer.

"You're almost there, Sawyer." I grabbed her hand.

"Kane, I can't. I'm too tired." Sawyer whimpered

"Just give me two more minutes. Just two minutes. I'm here. Two more minutes." I said

Sawyer nodded and pressed her forehead against mine. She continued and squeezed my hand through all of it. I kept glancing at the clock as two minutes turned to five, then to seven. Suddenly the room was abuzz and there was a high pitch crying as Sawyer was leaned back and our daughter was placed on Sawyer's stomach, loosely wrapped in a towel. I was able to cut the chord and they whisked her off to get checked over and weighed.

"She's so tiny." I said as I turned to look at Sawyer.

"Kane, you're crying." Sawyer laughed, lightly tugging on my hand.

She gave me a kiss and pulled back, wiping at my face with her delicate fingers. I smiled and repeatedly kissed Sawyer, taking her hand in mine. I'm a dad! I glanced over where our baby girl was being weighed, continuing to cry. It was the best sound I had ever heard. I felt little kisses on my knuckles and looked at Sawyer. She looked exhausted and had a sleepy smile on her lips. I wanted so badly to go see our little girl, but I wanted to stay with my wife. A nurse pulled over a stool for me to sit on.

"Go see her." Sawyer smiled, closing her eyes.

"I will in a minute. Right now, I wanna stay with you." I said and kissed her hand. "I'm proud of you."

"So do we have a name picked out?" A nurse asked while filling out paperwork.

Sawyer and I looked at each other with big grins. We had thought long and hard about what to name our daughter. Turning, I took the paperwork from the nurse and picked up the pen. Taking a deep breath, I began to carefully write out our daughter's name as they handed our baby girl to Sawyer.
