Matching Illness

It was all Lisa's fault. Jisoo laid in bed, eyes aching, throat sore, stomach rolling. Lisa swore up and down that she wasn't sick when she had slept in the Korean woman's room the night before, yet here they were. Both women were in their rooms, feeling like death was poking their sides repeatedly while Jennie and Rose ran between the rooms, masks covering their faces and bringing fresh rags for their heads.

All four women were exhausted and to top it off, their managers took off to keep from getting sick themselves. Jisoo drifted off into a fever dream, her clammy skin burning. When she woke up, instead of being cold like she had been for the past twelve hours, she was sweltering. Next to her, Lisa slept with her arms wrapped around her older friend. Their pajamas were damp with sweat, five blankets piled high on them.

Rose and Jennie were curled on the loveseat they had moved into Jisoo's room to keep an eye on the two. Medicine bottoms were loosely held in their hands as their heads pressed together. Sitting up, Jisoo guiltily got up and found a clean blanket to put on them. Taking the blue thermometer she checked Lisa's temperature, smiling when she saw it was going down.

After making sure her own temp was lowering, she grabbed a fresh pair of PJs for Lisa and changed her carefully. The set of duckie pajamas made the tall girl look like a little kid as Jisoo tucked her back into bed. Going to the bathroom, the oldest woman splashed cold water on her face before going to the kitchen, enjoying the cool drops sliding down her warm skin.

Taking four water bottles back to the room, she set two down next to Jennie and Rose before slipping the medicine out of their grips. She got Lisa to take a could of pills before letting her go back to sleep. When she was sure everyone was taken care of, Jisoo changed into a clean pair of sleep pants and a shirt she stole from Lisa.

Sliding back into bed, she cuddled with the girl next to her, hoping that when she woke up the fever would be gone and she could focus on taking care of her friends. Jennie and Rose had been pushing themselves hard since their friends took ill while Lisa had begun to have hallucinations from her fever.

As soon as she was better she was going to order everyone's favorite foods and set up a movie night for the quartet. "Thanks, Chichu," Lisa murmured against Jisoo's collar bone.

"Go to sleep Squish. You'll feel better when you wake up,"

"Promise?"

"Promise," Jisoo assured her.

After a long nap, the two woke up feeling refreshed. The only problem was, Jennie and Rose got a sore throat. Sighing, Jisoo led them to Rosie's room and tucked them in as Lisa gave them pills.

"Get ready," Jisoo instructed the younger girl. "This is going to be a long night."

"They did it for us so it's our turn to do it for them."

"You're quite right. Now let's get them some clean blankets."
