Sharing is Caring

"Okay, we're ready!" Lisa smiled as she wrapped an arm around Jisoo's waist.

"What's the point in this," the shorter woman asked.

"Sharing is caring and I care about you." What they were sharing was a long red scarf. Soft and worn, it wrapped around both of their necks three times. Neither could take a step away from each other in any direction without hanging the other.

"I don't know why you think shopping with this on is a good idea."

"It'll be fun! Come on, let's go!" Lisa interlaced her fingers with Jisoo's and led her out of the apartment. After an awkward waddle to the elevator, the two made it to the lobby. "Let's walk to the mall!"

"What, why?"

"Because I want to walk and talk with you before it gets too cold." The chilly air wrapped around them and bit into their exposed skin. "And we can get used to walking together this way too." Jisoo's jaw dropped. Really? Really? But the excited look on Lisa's adorable baby face made her relent.

"Okay," she said with a sigh. Lisa squealed and broke into a happy, bouncing walk. Jisoo's shorter legs had a hard time keeping up, the scarf pulling tight on her neck several times before she simply stopped in her tracks. Lisa got hooked around the neck and was jerked back. She made a strange strangled noise that made Jisoo's lips twitch up. "I can't walk as fast as you," Jisoo reminded the taller woman.

"Of course, of course!" Lisa pulled Jisoo close and started off with much smaller strides. After a few minutes of awkward walking, the two fell into a comfortable rhythm, jaunting down the street. They window shopped all the way to the mall, smiling and laughing the entire time.

The pair stopped at a stand and bought giant pretzels, munching on them as they looked for presents for the coming holiday season and a slew of birthdays. They frolicked in their favorite stores, stopped for several snacks, lunch, and dinner, before walking around and admiring the newly put up lights.

Christmas lights hung everywhere, trees covered in ornaments sat on every empty wall, a monstrously huge fir tree sat in the middle of the epicenters. Cheer was in the air, soaking into the skin of the happy couple. Never once did they leave each other's side, staying by each other's sides all day, a constant flush in their cheeks.

After their fifth hot chocolate break, the two decided to go home. Hauling all of their bags into their hands, they had to lose a layer of scarf to carry everything. Lisa and Jisoo warily walked back to the entrance of the mall where a waiting taxi sat. After loading the taxi down, they collapsed in the back seat.

The driver smiled as he looked at them from the rearview mirror. Lisa had curled herself around Jisoo, holding her tightly to her chest. The latter of the two frowned before wrapping two more layers of the scarf around them, snuggling into Lisa.

The driver turned on some soft music, lulling the girls to sleep. When he pulled up to the apartment front, he gently called, "Ma'am. You're home." Neither girl budged until he started incessantly poking Jisoo's foot.

"You're home," he said quietly. The sleepy girls nodded at him, before loosening the red scarf and gathering their bags. Jisoo paid him and both girls gave him sleepy goodbyes and thank yous before getting in the elevator.

Lisa leaned her head against Jisoo's shoulder as they waited, quiet Christmas music playing in the metal box. Once they trudged to their apartment, Lisa opened the door and dropped her bags in the living room. Jisoo copied the motion, both girls stumbling into their room for the night, falling asleep in a tangled heap.

As Jisoo nuzzled Lisa's collarbone, she absentmindedly adjusted their scarf. At the end of the day, her feet hurt, her body ached, and she was glad Lisa made her wear the giant scarf.
