Jisoo sobbed into Lisa's shoulder. Hanbin had already been cut from the company and the new CEO had just taken over. What was going to happen if she found out about her and Lisa? Fear clawed at their insides.
Lisa was doing her best to stay together so Jisoo could fall apart and have her reassurance. As long as she could make Jisoo feel like everything was going to be okay, she could deal. The day after the new CEO took over, the two were told they were going to have a talk with her.
In a few hours, they would have to face the music and meet with her. Were they going to be kicked out? Will they have to break up? Jisoo clutched Lisa as tightly as she could. She never wanted to let go. Lisa tucked her girlfriend's head under her chin and squeezed her tight. Tears brimmed in her eyes, threatening to spill over but she refused to let them fall.
Slowly, Lisa leaned them back to lay on the bed. She tucked them in and pulled Jisoo tight against her. Cooing softly in her ear, Lisa subtly wiped her own stray tears. "We'll be alright," she whispered. Her voice was thick with the emotion she was tiring to control. "What can I do," she asked. "What can I do for you?"
Jisoo buried her face deeper in Lisa's chest. "Just hold me as tight as you can until the meeting." Her muffled voice was heavy with tears. Iron bands wrapped around her body as they held each other tight enough to chase away the unpleasant thought of tomorrow.
After a while, Jisoo's sobs and sniffles quieted and her tears dried. Even in her sleep, she held Lisa like she was about to disappear. Lisa fell asleep after her, trying to memorize her face in case the worst came to happen.
Even with all of the uncertainty of the future, they were tangled together in sleep. No matter what they were going to face in the morning, they were doing to face it together.
