{Playing: At Last- Etta James/My Girl- The Temptations}

Racing down the stairs for the rooftop, Jisoo huffed as she came to a stop at the elevator. She could only run down so many flights of stairs before it was too much. Panting the entire way to the lobby, the woman wiped the sweat off of her forehead. Once the doors opened she broke into a sprint heading for her hotel room. Dumping her lights on the bed, Jisoo went to the bathroom to fix her hair and coat, making herself presentable.

The Ferris wheel should be down by now, all she had to do was cross the bridge and find Lisa. Figuring the girl would be heading back to their apartment, Jisoo rushed down the street and onto the gridlocked overpass. Dodging through cars like a military obstacle course, Jisoo slowed to a jog as she got onto a sidewalk. Eyes darting around the street, Jisoo looked for a familiar figure.

After searching for a while, her brown eyes finally spotted a dazed girl wandering down the street, a dreamy look in her wide eyes. Smiling, Jisoo just watched the girl as she came closer, not paying mind to anything around her. "Gotcha yah!" Lisa yelp when she felt the arms of someone wrapped around her waist. Her girlfriend's voice calmed her down as she turned to see the smaller woman. Jisoo's cheeks were rosy, eyes shining, hair windblown. Beautiful.

"Jisoo!" The couple embraced on the street as people yelled and ran around them. "What are you doing here? I thought you were stuck across town!"

"I crossed the bridge."

"You ran across a bridge just for me?"

"Well, yeah." Leaning down, Lisa pecked the woman's nose, making her frozen face even redder. "Come on, we have to go!" Taking the taller woman's hand, Jisoo took off in a jog back to the bridge.

"What are we doing?"

"Trust me!" Dragging the Thai woman all the way, the couple huffed their way back to the building looking out across the Ferris wheel.

"Jisoo? Please tell me we're not going up a bunch of stairs." Smirking, the Korean woman hurried to the elevator. The workers in the building gave the two girls strange looks but didn't say anything, all of them much more interested in getting to the party in their branch leader's offices. Pressing the top button, Jisoo pulled Lisa close, nuzzling her head in her shoulder. "What are we doing?"

"It's another surprise."

"You're not proposing are you?" Poking her bottom lip out, she thought about it. The idea had merit.

"Not today," she finally replied. Raising an eyebrow, Lisa tugged on the ends of Jisoo's hair. Somehow she didn't think she would say no if there was a proposal coming. Once the metal box dinged, the doors opened to an empty hall.

"This is eerie," Lisa commented. It really was. All of the commotions from downstairs ceased to a deathly stillness that just left an unsettling feeling in the pit of their stomachs.

"Come on, let's keep going." Taking her hand, Jisoo led the Thai woman to the maintenance stairs, both of their footsteps echoing on the marble floor. Rushing to the roof, the women broke out into the frigid air. Dropping Lisa's hand, Jisoo placed her phone on an AC unit. Scrolling through her music, she tapped a song before turning her sound all the way up and stepping away.

"Can I have this dance?" Holding her hand out, Jisoo smiled sweetly at her blushing girlfriend.

"Of course." Placing her hand in Jisoo's, Lisa entwined their fingers together,  pulling the shorter woman close. Together, they waltzed slowly across the rooftop, listening to 'At Last' by Etta James. Their eyes locked the entire time, never wavering. As the last note started fading, Jisoo leaned up, slowly kissing Lisa.

Their lips caressed each other as another song replaced Etta's croon. 'My Girl' by the Temptations brought smiles to both of their faces as they shuffled closer, deepening the kiss.

"Happy New Year," Jisoo whispered as she pulled away from Lisa.

"Happy New Year." Connecting their lips again, the couple swayed as The Temptations serenade into the night.
