"Well, that was a disaster," Lisa said as she and Jisoo walked in their front door. The date they had planned had gone wrong from the very beginning. The restaurant they made a reservation at gave their table away to some executive and their date, leaving the two standing awkwardly at the podium while the hostess tried to find out a wait time.

From there they went to the movie theater but the only movie they found worth watching was already sold out. Eventually, they just grabbed some street food that was knocked to the ground by a man and his very large dog. The chocolate lab smelled their own dog on them and got excited, thinking there was a friend close by, and tackled the couple. Their food was ruined and so was the mood to go on a date.

The couple decided just to go home and try finding something on tv before anything else could ruin the night. "It could have been worse," Jisoo replied.

"How?"

"No one died," Jisoo joked. Lisa rolled her eyes at her girlfriend before jogging up the steps to their room. The older woman took a seat at their island as their old dog got up to greet her. Sausage's black snout had turned mostly white in the past few years though his eyebrow whiskers were turning black again. He padded over quietly to Jisoo and prodded her leg with his dry nose.

"Hey boy," Jisoo said as her hand ran over his head. The old dog sat on her foot as she played with his floppy ears. Lisa came back down the stairs in a pair of light blue cut off shorts that she stole from Jisoo and a grey t-shirt.

"Hey, Goodest!" Lisa sat down next to the thin, loose skinned dog and vigorously scratched his sides. The dog slowly fell to his side with his tongue poking out of his mouth. "Such a good boy," Lisa told him as she scratched behind his ears.

After a while, the two got up to get ready for dinner while Sausage wandered around their living room. "What do you want for dinner," Jisoo called up the stairs.

"Whatever sounds good to you," Lisa yelled back. Jisoo sighed as she looked at the takeout menus sitting on their dining room table. She ordered a couple of pizzas before going over to see what Sausage was doing. He stood with his nose pointed to the wall in their living room by his corner.

"Do you need to go out little guy," Jisoo asked. Sausage continued to stare blankly at the wall while Jisoo stood over him with a frown. Weird boy, she thought. "Let me know if you need anything," she told the sixteen-year-old canine. As she straightened up, her gaze caught the scene outside of the window.

In recent months, the couple had moved to a quiet bedroom community that was almost in the country. The smog from Seoul was gone and the sky was visible for the first time in both of the women's lives. Although they moved away from the city to escape the noise and lights, neither had really taken the time to look at the clear sky.

Jisoo smiled as she ran upstairs to the closet that held their extra blankets and sheets.

By the time the pizza got there, Jisoo had finished her dinner set up. Lisa paid for the food and carried the hot boxes to the table as Sausage slowly meandered over to the smell of food. "No, boy," Lisa told the dog standing next to her. "Human food is bad for you. Eat your own food."

Jisoo ran over to her girlfriend and took the pizza away from her before the box could be opened. "Let's go upstairs for dinner," she said excitedly.

"Why," Lisa asked.

"I want to show you something." Jisoo trotted up the steps while Lisa followed her with a smile. Sausage brought up the rear with slow, light steps from his little paws. The older woman went out onto their large balcony where a plaid blanket was laid out on the floor. "Come on, sit," Jisoo said excitedly.
