The summer heat beat down on the city as Jisoo and Lisa lounged around in their apartment. The AC had stopped working in the entire building overnight, making the two miserable. Groaning, Lisa rolled off the couch onto the cool hardwood floor.

"When did they say the maintenance people were getting here," Lisa asked. She was sweating from every pore and the sun wasn't even at its peak yet.

"In a few hours," Jisoo sighed. The open windows let in very little wind because of the buildings blocking them on all sides. "Lisa, I'm hungry," she moaned.

The unhappy pair had been avoiding turning on the oven or the stove all day, hoping to keep the heat to a minimum.  "Let's order some food," Lisa suggested. Jisoo grinned at her before sluggishly grabbing her phone and calling their favorite takeout place down the street. Usually, they would walk down together to pick it up themselves, enjoying the warm night air. Now they were just hoping that their orders would be done soon.

Hoping to distract themselves, they turned on some bad horror movies and made fun of the characters until the doorbell rang. Yelling, Lisa ran to the door, flinging it open to see the delivery guy smiling at them. "Decided to stay in today," he asked playfully. Jisoo shoved a handful of money over Lisa's shoulder, a half-crazed look in her eyes.

"Food, now," she growled. The guy handed her the food before waving as he started walking away. Grabbing cold drinks from the fridge, Lisa skipped to the ravenous Jisoo. They scarfed down their hot food as the movie started getting good with obviously fake blood and terrible acting.

After a while, they decided to order ice cream from the closest store that delivered. By the time they heard the knock on the door, they were curled up on the couch, begging the girl in the movie not to go into the house. Lisa and Jisoo jumped, knocking over the empty food containers, arming themselves with pillows. Slowly approaching the door, Jisoo held the pillow out like a knife.

When she opened the door, a young girl stood in the doorway holding a bag. "Did someone order ice cream," she asked. Dropping the pillow quickly, Jisoo kicked it behind her and paid for the cold treat, taking it back to the waiting girl on the couch.

As the pair anxiously watched the end of the movie, they cheered as the main lead pushed the killer off the rooftop to the building below. When their movie marathon ended, dusk was darkening the sky. Getting up, Jisoo tossed in a couple of frozen pizzas to the oven as the girls flipped channels until they found Spongebob.

After they were done eating, the two took turns showering before going to bed, completely forgetting about the now blowing AC.
