That's not my parents, that's my roommate.

Now I have to suddenly get into character! I needed time for this!

I jump up out of bed.

"Oh, sorry. I didn't wake you or anything right?" The tall ginger boy who enters my room asks with a smile.

I scan him quickly. I guess we were a good match. Also tall and light haired...seems pretty outgoing...

"Oh. no. I was just taking a quick rest." I respond in my non-perfected accent.

"It's nice to meet you." I say extending my arm. "I'm Rony."

"Woah! You're British?! Nobody ever told me my roommate is British!" He says, wheeling in his suitcase.

"I'm Billy!"

Oh, man....

He's going to be one of those.

"Yes. Just flew in. Pleasure to meet you."

"Your family here? Mine should be here eventually." Billy tells me as he plops on top of his empty bed.

I mean mattress.

I mean gymnastics mat.

That's all it really is at the moment.

"My parents? They actually just stepped out." I reply.

Awkward silence...

"So you said you are Billy?"

Duh! Come on Rony! British may fix the stutter, but it certainly doesn't fix plain old awkward.

"Yes. Billy. Billy Rubin."

"That sounds oddly familiar." I admit.

"Yeah. That's because my parents are biologists so they named me after bilirubin. It is like a waste product in the blood or something."

"Really? That's interesting.."

He's named after a waste product? That's a big blow...

I know my name is kind of odd, but at least I'm not trash..

"Yeah, don't get me wrong though. I aint no scientist. I am just the craziest Jewish ginger you will ever meet!" He laughs.

"My family is also Jewish. I guess that's why we were paired." I laugh.

"Jewish and British? That's awesome!"

Oh dear...

"Yep...So anyway do we have some sort of activity to get to?" I ask.

"Dude...I'm the worst person to ask. I don't know how I am going to do this whole college thing I am so disorganized."

I smile.

"So what's your major?" I ask as I pull out the large green folder we were provided with earlier.

"Computer science as of now. I'm a geek too. But I've also been considering speech pathology so I'll see. What about you?"
