"Mari. I don't need a man. I'm happy that I'm single." I argued.

I'm currently in a coffee shop near my workplace. Mari tricked me on meeting a guy again. Yes, all of my friends are in a relationship and I don't think I need someone right now.

"You're so focus with your career, think about your love life,y/n. And this will be over quickly, I promise." she said
"Fine. But I'm telling you if this guy turns out to be sexist like the last time, I'm gonna walk out."

"He is a good guy."
"That's what you said last time."

She didn't argue back.

"Oh they're here." She said waving at the two men who is clearly arguing at the door.

I think he went here involuntarily too. Nice, our friends really do get along.

"Act nice." she whispered to me when they were on their way to our table.

"Y/n. This is Damien. Damien, this is y/n" Mari said

He has a black hair but a blur blue strike at the side, so edgy. The guy nudged Damien at the stomach.

"Hi " Damien offered his hand to shake which I accepeted and said "hi"

"I'm Shayne." The guy with him said.
"Hi." I shook his hand.

"So we're gonna leave you two together." Mari stood up.
"Wait what." I held her wrist.

She leaned on my ear and whispered "do what you gotta do." I begged Mari to stay silently but they walked away.

"Friends huh?" Damien said
"Yeah. They try to run our lives." I said to make the situation less awkward.

"This is the 3rd date I've been set-up to." I said, hopefully the last.
"Really? This is my 5th."

"What happened?"
"If I may ask" I added

"Well. The first one is married, second, a bad liar, third, using me to make her ex jealous, fourth, never heard from her again and the fifth one is you."

"Fifth one is a reporter who likes to procrastinate and drinks a lot of coffee." I joked.
"You are a reporter?" "That's why you're familiar."

"And you're an actor, right?" I asked
"Yes."
"Mari told me."

Honestly, he is easy to talk to and he's a lot of fun. We chatted for hours and he did an impersonation of many celebrities which made me laugh louder than normal.

"You are so funny." I said as I wiped the tears from my eyes.
"Well, you are a great laugher?"
"Thank you. That is one of my assets."

"So how are you kids?" Mari approached us.
"Good." I answered.
"Well, both of you have work to do, so go on guys."

What a killjoy, I was having fun.

"I'll walk you to your office." Damien suggested.
"That would be great, Damien." Shayne gave him a thumbs up.
"You sure?" I picked up my things.
"Definitely sure."

It was not that far, just a walking distance.

"Mari told me you didn't have a boyfriend since birth. Why?" He asked as we are crossing the street.

"I'm a really hardworking person, not bragging. I think it's a distraction when I was studying and I adapted to it and now I'm rejecting every guy I know."
"Don't you get lonely?"
"Sometimes."

We fell silent.

"Honestly, I just don't want to rush into things." I said
"True. 'Cause rushing into things can get you really hurt."
